It was still dark outside when Elora set off. Oasis was restless in bed, knowing that his dear sister was going to a place away from home, and she was taking all this danger upon herself just so they could all be safe. And what could he do?
All he could do was wake up and continue doing what he always did. Only that before he did it, because that was his life. And now he was to do so, to show the world that everything was all right. Before he did what he did because that was what he wanted to do or had to do. Now he was supposed to live the same way, to show those nasty snakes that they were all right.
No matter what he did, he couldn't shake off the thought of his sister and the danger ahead. This it all started because of all those unwanted relatives and that random man that had popped up out of nowhere. Even funnier, that man claimed to be his uncle. How could he accept that when their parents had met their demise, no one had been there? His sister fended off all those wolves that had come bearing their fangs. She protected the house and him. She taught him how to protect himself and his people. Yet the snakes had come back.
This time, with an unwanted guardian leading them. This unwanted Guardian, he wondered where was the world when they needed him? Now all this uncle of theirs wanted was the prosperous Marquis seat, the position, wealth and honor that came with it. And unfortunate for them, he came at the right time.
They were still too young according to the Empire's law, and this uncle had waited for this critical situation. The political state was in chaos thanks to the new crown. And they had been unprepared for this nonexistent uncle of theirs. Elora had finally reached the place which in the near future was to be called the Great Accident.
