« Team 7 : Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke and Hyuga Asahi » Iruka announced loudly.
'What the hell ?!' A boy thought to himself clearly surprised by the turn of events.
The boy's name was Hyuga Asahi. A reincarnator. It has now been twelve years ever since he reincarnated in this world as a baby. And as Hyuga Hinata's twin brother no less.
'Damn it ! Is it because I befriended Naruto so they thought that I added more value as a bond to Naruto than Forehead?

That's right. Asahi didn't just get reincarnated without any explanation. After he got killed by truck-kun, thanks to his good karma in his previous life, he was given the opportunity to choose his faction, clan and timeline alongside a goodbye gift of his choice to get him started in his new life, within reason of course.
As for his clan choice, although Uchiha was the most mainstream choice, He didn't choose them because he didn't want to evolve with the power of trauma. And the danger of extermination or the possibility of being chosen by Madara, made it an even worse choice.
Senju and Uzumaki were also good choices but the problem was that Senju's bloodline at this time period was already diluted because of civilian blood. If he wanted a pure Senju bloodline, that would mean he would have to choose a timeline before the second ninja war, and he didn't want to participate in two wars in a row.
It was the same case for the Uzumaki, the best case was to end up as a jinchuriki and the worst case was to end up like Karin's mom.
Although the Hyuga was a slightly worse option than the others, he could choose to either be a main family or branch family so he immediately became a Hyuga and chose the main family.
As for why he chose this timeline, He knew that both of Hyuga Hiashi's daughter had very pure Byakugan so reincarnating as his son would give him the highest chance for a pure byakugan since he chose the Otsutsuki body (the moon one not true Otsusuki) and genes from the Kaguya clan as his cheat so as long as his chakra became strong enough, he would without a doubt get the Tenseigan sooner or later.
He also got Shikotsumyaku because the Hyuga and Kaguya clan apparently had the same ancestor so he got it as a bonus because of compatibility.
Which was a very welcome gift since he didn't want to become a glass cannon and he didn't like the gentle fist very much due to its nature.

A while after all of the other people left the room.
"Damn it. Why is our teacher the only one who isn't here? And now I'm stuck with this stinky Sasuke too." Naruto complained as only Asahi, Sasuke and Naruto himself were the only ones still stuck in the room.
Sasuke just snorted and ignored what Naruto said about him but he was also angry that his teacher wasn't here.
Asahi activated his Byakugan and sure enough, Kakashi was hiding nearby watching their reactions.
Kakashi obviously noticed it so he had no choice but get out of his hiding place.
As Kakashi entered the room, Naruto immediately complained about how he was late.
Kakashi just gave them a perfunctory excuse and then turned to Asahi and said.
"How did you know?"
"Just a hunch." Asahi responded.
Kakashi sighed while scratching his head and mumbled: "As expected of the Hyuga genius."
"You guys, follow me." Kakashi then said as he made his way out.
The three of them followed him and after a bit, they arrived on the rooftop of the academy.
Kakashi then asked them to introduce themselves. Naruto then told Kakashi to introduce himself first since they knew nothing about him.
Kakashi just did a perfunctory introduction similar to what happened to the manga.
Naruto and Sasuke's Introduction were just what they said in the manga too.
It was finally time for Asahi's introduction.
"The name's Hyuga Asahi. I like my sisters and hate those dumbass elders of the main family."
Kakashi winced a bit since he didn't expect Asahi to just insult the higher ups of his clan.
Asahi hates the elders of the main family since they're planning to brand Hinata with the caged bird once Asahi grows up sufficiently to take over the clan head's position.
The only reason they haven't done so is because of Asahi's problematic personality. Despite being acclaimed as the greatest genius in the history of the Hyuga clan, Asahi loathes the gentle fist and is barely proficient with it since he thinks it's stupid.
Asahi's logic was that the Hyuga is a byakugan clan not a gentle fist clan.
What kind of moron decided that since they had eyes capable of seeing kilometers away, also able to see through chakra signatures and able to see through some genjutsu then decided to use its most niche feature to see tenketsu and go poke the opponent's tenketsu up close instead of being support ninjas.
Although the gentle fist has some merits in capturing and disabling an opponent, most ninja fights usually is a fight to the death so if you have the skills to precisely poke your opponent's tenketsu 64 times in a row, you're skilled enough to hit them repeatedly on the head or in the crotch for an easier and faster outcome.
Asahi wouldn't let them brand the caged bird on his sisters anyway. He's just waiting for his Tenseigan to awaken to topple everything and get rid of those fossils clinging to tradition.
Although his chakra is now around 2 Kakashi thanks to his otsutsuki/kaguya body, it wasn't nearly enough to awaken his tenseigan.
Asahi then continued: "As for my dream, I haven't thought much about it but it's probably to become rich and live however I want."
After the introductions were over, Kakashi then told them that they would do a survival exercise tomorrow and one of them will be sent back to the academy.
Although Naruto and Sasuke were scared shitless after hearing what Kakashi, Asahi didn't react much.
'Meh, there's no way he wouldn't allow Naruto and Sasuke to pass since he's the only in the village who can train and supervise the both of them.
And even if by some miracle we don't pass, I don't care anyway. It's not like I have to be a ninja now.
The cannon was down the drain when forehead didn't make the team so might as well go with the flow.
If push comes to shove, I can train them anyway.

As Kakashi left, Asahi spoke to the both of them.
"Hey, you two. Let's go grab a bite."
"Oh!! Let's go to Ichiraku." Naruto said as he raised his fist into the air.
"Tch. I have no interest in that. I'm heading home." The grumpy Sasuke said as he was trying to leave but Asahi stopped him by putting a hand on his shoulder and said.
"Don't be a party pooper, Number 2. It's also to discuss what we should do tomorrow. I have intelligence about Kakashi and it's in your best interests to hear me out."
"Don't call me Number 2!!!" Sasuke screamed.
Because of Asahi's reincarnation, Sasuke never became the academy's top student. Either it was in theory or practical exams, Sasuke was never able to defeat Asahi since theory was easy because of his previous life in the modern world as a university graduate. As for practice, Thanks to his status as the young master of the Hyuga clan, money was never a problem so Asahi could easily jonin tutors and such to hone all of his skills. He even paid them to let him participate in ninja missions so unlike his flower in a greenhouse classmates, Asahi has real ninja experience, only limited to B-rank missions since the clan didn't allow him to take missions of higher ranks.
Sasuke hearing that he had intelligence about Kakashi decided to reluctantly follow Naruto and Asahi.
Soon enough, the three arrived at the Akimichi BBQ restaurant.
"Heh!? Why not go to Ichiraku for some ramen?" Naruto asked while pouting.
"Because I'm the one paying and I want to eat meat."
Hearing Asahi's response, Naruto relented since a free meal is a free meal anyway.
They then entered and took seats. Asahi then ordered 50 servings, greatly surprising Naruto and Sasuke.
As the meat arrived, Asahi began to grill his meat leisurely and finally spoke to them.
"Well then, let's talk about tomorrow's plan."
