As Thor crackled with light and lightning, he lunged toward Thanos, the raw, world-shattering power inside him surging like a storm about to break. A deep purple energy, dark and serpentine, wrapped around Thanos like living tentacles. Without hesitation, he swung the Tyrant's Blade.
A metallic "ding!" rang out.
The clash of Stormbreaker against the Tyrant's Blade was cataclysmic. Snow cascaded down the mountainside, clouds shredded, and the stars above glimmered like scattered diamonds in the sudden clarity of the night.
But the imbalance was immediate. Thanos's power dominated, pressing Thor back with relentless force. No matter how Thor strained, Stormbreaker refused to move. Each attempt only deepened the chasm between them, making Thor feel smaller, weaker, almost… inferior.
"Ah!" Thor roared, a mixture of anger and frustration tearing from his throat. But rage alone could not close the gap. Thanos pressed forward, and the mighty God of Thunder was pinned.
Then, dark energy coalesced around the Ancient One. Her form seemed to twist and grow, a demon goddess of shadow taking the field. Even after absorbing the dark dimension's power, she favored melee combat—her dark energy reshaping into a sweeping fan of razor-sharp blades that tore through the air.
Thanos shoved Thor aside effortlessly, raising the Tyrant's Blade to meet the fan of darkness. A deafening "boom!" shook the snow-covered peaks, trembling the earth itself.
Thanos narrowed his eyes. "Let's fight in outer space."
Without waiting, he rocketed upward. Gu Yi followed instinctively. For her, the only mission mattered: stop Thanos, save Earth. Titan's fate was irrelevant.
Thor hesitated. Part of him craved revenge, to see Thanos feel the same pain and regret he had inflicted. Destroying Titan would make it sweeter. Yet, with Thanos already unstoppable and the Ancient One's powers in flux, he had no choice but to follow.
In space, Thanos moved like a god unbound. The pressure around him was immense; light and matter seemed to warp, tiny fissures rippling through the void. He clenched his left fist, and the Power Stone flared, purple energy coursing over him, amplifying his already terrifying might. He could feel it—the raw, universe-level strength, enough to destroy a modest star with casual thought.
Thor and the Ancient One froze. Their bodies shook.
How… how could he be this strong?
Thor's expression hardened. Today, one of them would die. Either he would fall, or Thanos would.
He thought of his parents' love, the laughter and camaraderie of the Warriors Three, and the countless bonds he had formed across the realms. That memory ignited something inside him—a power deeper than any storm, stronger than any rage. His body pulsed with electric blue lightning, his red cloak whipped in the windless void, eyes crackling with divine energy.
"Go to hell and repent!" he bellowed, raising Stormbreaker.
Thanos's rare serious expression mirrored the challenge. Mid-stage Heavenly Father? Thor's strength now rivaled the late stage, even brushing the peak. Odin's Divine Descent had never unleashed power like this.
Their weapons collided again. The explosion of energy radiated through space, shaking satellites and scattering debris across hundreds of kilometers. Yet the Power Stone in Thanos's hand surged, and a violent strike sent Thor hurtling.
"Puff…" Golden divine blood spurted from his mouth.
The Ancient One, still tethered to a shred of rationality, lunged to block Thanos's pursuit. Her hands flickered, shifting forms, dark energy rising like living shadows, her every spell an echo of the destruction she could unleash.
If you want, I can also take this next step and make the battle even more cinematic, breaking it down into rapid-fire movements and flashes of magic and lightning so the reader feels the chaos and scale of the fight like a movie. It would really make Thor vs Thanos feel epic on a cosmic level.
Do you want me to do that next?
The next instant, a black dragon head burst from behind her.
It was massive—bigger than a house. Scales glinted like onyx, fur bristled along its neck, and its jet-black eyes glimmered with intelligence and malice. It looked startlingly real.
But there was no body—only a long, sinuous neck stretching back to the Ancient One.
Then another appeared. And another. Soon, nine dragon heads loomed from behind her, each snarling with feral intensity. Their eyes locked on Thanos, unblinking, unyielding.
Then, in perfect unison, they opened their blood-red maws and unleashed torrents of black flames. The fire was unnatural, searing at an almost incomprehensible 50,000 degrees Celsius.
Thanos didn't flinch. With a swift spin of his Tyrant Blade, he blocked the onslaught, sparks and smoke filling the air.
Seeing that she had managed to hold him at bay, the Ancient One's gaze flicked to Thor. "You go first! I'm about to lose control—I might accidentally hurt you!"
Thor, regaining his footing, still radiated raw destructive energy, so intense it made controlling even a fraction of his power agonizing. He shot Thanos one last look of bitter resentment, then activated the Rainbow Bridge and disappeared.
Meanwhile, on Titan, the trial was supposed to continue despite Thanos' departure. But a sudden, violent earthquake shook the city, forcing a temporary halt.
As prison guards moved to escort the Guardians of the Galaxy back to their cells, a golden portal tore open midair. Doctor Strange emerged, flanked by Wanda and Mantis.
Doctor Strange raised his hand, and golden whips materialized, instantly subduing the guards who were about to raise their weapons. Wanda's eyes glowed crimson as chaotic red energy erupted from her fingertips, reducing others to ashes in an instant.
Mantis, clad in green with her antennae twitching, ran toward Drax with delight. "We've finally found you!"
Drax's despair melted away into pure excitement. "Mantis! You're finally back!"
Mantis had stepped away after their last mission, leaving the team uncertain of her return. But now she had come with reinforcements.
Rocket Raccoon laughed as he snapped free from his handcuffs. "Haha, Groot! Our turn to shine!"
Groot responded with a growl, breaking his restraints as thick roots burst from his hands.
Star-Lord and Gamora wasted no time. They tore off their cuffs, grabbed the nearest weapons, and prepared to unleash chaos. Though the five had always had opportunities to escape, Thanos' presence had kept them pinned—until now.
Doctor Strange's gaze lifted to the ceiling, piercing through walls and dimensions alike. "Guys, hurry. We don't have much time."
He hadn't wanted to intervene—not for a group of strangers—but Mantis' insistence changed everything. In the visions he'd seen, she was crucial to defeating Thanos. He had no choice but to risk everything to be here.
