Gohan cleared his throat, "How about we talk about that after you overcome one hundred times gravity first?"
Lagss pouted, "Master, I'll overcome one hundred times gravity eventually. Why not teach me first?"
"I will teach you," Gohan replied calmly, "But only after you overcome one hundred times gravity."
"Stupid Master." Lagss cursed him silently in her heart.
"What did you say?"
Lagss froze, "Oh no—I forgot Master can read minds!"
Her expression instantly changed.
"N-Nothing, Master! I didn't say anything!"
Dr. Gero's Laboratory
Because Android 17 and Android 18 refused to obey his orders, Dr. Gero accelerated the creation of Android 19—and even converted himself into an android.
At this moment, he stood before Android 19's hibernation pod, watching the figure inside with visible tension.
Since beginning his research, Dr. Gero had created nineteen androids—twenty if he counted himself.
Androids 1 through 7: failures

Android 19 froze mid-movement.
"Phew…" Dr. Gero collapsed against the wall, breathing heavily.
Returning to the lab, his face twisted with fury.
"Damn it! Where did I go wrong?! Why won't any of my androids obey me?!"
Three Days Later
West City — Goku's House
Goku and Gohan were sitting on the couch eating fruit when Chi-Chi walked out of the kitchen.
"Goku, Gohan, Bulma told me the World Martial Arts Tournament will be held in West City tomorrow!"
"The World Martial Arts Tournament?!"
"That's right! It hasn't been held in years—ever since we got married."
She smiled nostalgically.
"How about you two participate?"
"Participate?"
"Yes! I heard the champion wins a lot of money!"
"Chi-Chi… isn't the money Gohan earns already enough?"
"What do you know? When it comes to money, more is always better!"
"But there aren't many strong fighters left anymore."
"Then call Krillin and the others!"
She crossed her arms.
"Either way, you must participate tomorrow."
"Well… alright."
Goku sighed and agreed.
Gohan could only nod helplessly.
Later, Goku went to invite Krillin and the others.
Although reluctant, they agreed out of respect for Goku.
That Afternoon — West City Hospital
A baby with faint purple hair was born.
This child was Trunks.
Dr. Brief and Mrs. Brief looked at their grandson with joy.
"Bulma, he's adorable—and it's a boy!"
"A boy!"
Mrs. Brief nodded happily.
"Have you chosen a name yet?" Dr. Brief asked. "If not, I have several suggestions!"
"No need, Dad," Bulma said flatly. "I've already decided this child's name is Trunks."
Dr. Brief paused.
"Trunks is good, but I think Butarou is also a fine—"
"Dad!" Bulma glared at him.
"Alright, alright. Trunks it is."
The Next Morning
World Martial Arts Tournament Grounds
After breakfast, Goku and his family arrived early.
Chi-Chi looked around, nostalgia filling her eyes.
"It was here you promised to marry me," she said softly. "And then we had Gohan."
"That's right." Goku smiled warmly.
Just then, a green figure descended from the sky.
It was Piccolo.
"Piccolo!" Goku waved cheerfully.
"Uncle Piccolo!"
Piccolo nodded.
Chi-Chi sighed inwardly.
That Piccolo fellow really picked the worst timing…
