Rai probably would have never shown this pathetic side of himself to Zade. Ever.
But today, he couldn't care less.
He let the bastard hug him, crying and crying, because the bastard didn't stop him either. Zade just kept holding him close, half-kneeling in front of him, patting his back in a steady, comforting rhythm.
Rai didn't even want to act tough anymore. He couldn't. It hurt so much, and he was so close to hyperventilating that if he had gone on trying to control it, he would have collapsed.
It was better to just cry. And Zade let him hide. Zade held him.
"Hey. Let's go somewhere else, shall we?"
Rai finally managed to catch his breath and hold back the worst of the shaking sobs, but he still didn't move away. Zade didn't let go of him either. So Rai stayed still, his face buried in Zade's chest, wetting his shirt.
