"Can both parties kindly step to the middle, please," the duke announced and it was then I realized it had begun.
"I will be watching closely, my beloved," Peter whispered to my left ear and I looked up with a forced smile.
I was nervous and scared.
When he walked away with Ruby and my ladies in waiting, I was finally left all alone.
I was dressed in my training clothes because it was more comforting and so was Lauren.
He got up from his throne and walked down the stairs with his eyes glued to me throughout. It felt like he wanted to tell me something and I was curious because he looked extremely worried for me, I knew that look well.
I despised him but I love myself more, so whatever it is must be beneficial to me.
I moved to the middle and so did Lauren until we were just a few steps away from each other.
His eyes held mine and I held his in suspicion.
The Duke quietly walked up to us and stood by the side but in-between us and stretched out his hand.
