I froze in place as my eyes went wide and so did Lauren's as he felt a trickle down his left cheek.
I felt his sword cut me at my abdomen but I was too scared to look.
"It is a draw!"
The Duke announced and I blinked as I looked at him in horror.
It couldn't be!
"No, it is not." Thomas loudly disagreed and stepped down from where the thrones were to examine us closely.
"Take two steps back from one another," the duke ordered and we did so while panting heavily.
When Thomas came up to me to examine the cut, I held my breath as I stared back at Lauren who finally touched the side of his cheek and felt the blood oozing out of the perfect cut I left him.
"The king left a perfect cut here before the queen had her chance, however, due to the suggestion the queen made about cutting to draw blood and not just merely cutting…"
He lingered and turned to face the king before completing his statement.
"....the queen has emerged as the winner."
