In my first life, I was the devoted Queen. I waited two months for my husband, King Lauren, to return from the front lines—only for him to walk through the palace gates with a beautiful young maiden by his side and a decree in his hand: ‘She would be the new Queen’.

I called as I stepped into his office unannounced.


Lauren answered and looked away from Thomas who had a serious look, meaning they had been discussing something important.


"I am sorry for intruding but I would like to make a request," I said and he frowned and gestured for me to come forward.


"What is it, my love? Ask anything and it will be done," he further said and I smiled in delight and looked at Thomas.


I knew from the first time he saw me that he disliked me and up until now, he still didn't like me.


I looked back at Lauren who had an encouraging look.


"I discovered that one of Queen Deborah's ladies in waiting stayed behind and I would like her to be my personal lady in waiting. Just her will suffice," I went on to say.


"Which of the ladies is that?" Lauren curiously asked and I slowly looked at Thomas just to notice that I had fully gotten his attention because he was on edge.
