Chapter 1 - Prologue

The atmosphere suffocated with agonizing screams.

This wasn't a new scene, though.

Humans were easily ripped apart like paper by ravaging monsters from the outer universe - horrifying beasts that shouldn't exist. There was this faint red hue that settled, layering across the surface of the Earth like a warning that if you stepped on this land in this moment, there won't be a guarantee you'd make it out alive. In fact, the chances of surviving were 0%.

In the distance, the flames engulfed the remaining concrete buildings as these monsters ran rampage, tearing through anything just because it could, ruining this planet people called 'home'. Home? Not anymore.

She stood at the edge of the cliff, her senses numbed as she clutched tightly to the open wound on her side.

"Fuck.. This wasn't how it was supposed to go."

She muttered under her breath, anger slipping through despite the exhaustion. How many more times? Just how many more times did she have to see this ending?

Just then, a menu pop-up appeared in front of her.

- Bad Ending Achieved.

- Mission Failed.

- Commencing a Reset.

- Resetting in 30 seconds.

She gritted her teeth at this notification again, glaring at the menu screen. She swore she did everything right this time. It should've been this run that she succeeded, so why does she keep ending back here? She was starting to feel the pain from the wound she sustained on her side, waiting for her reset. It was bleeding heavily and she could feel her blood trickle down her fingers. She took a glance at the blood and grimaced.
