Again the Jews are no saints, they have their shortcomings, just as every other race including the Germans, the Dutch, the British and sure the Americans. With some of those shortcomings they are confronted from their birth, I mean being subject to a never ending indoctrination. They are told that they are the "chosen" people from God, the God of Abraham, that only they know the truth and that they have to spread this message all over the world. This conviction breeds corruption. As said before, the Jews are not always modest, but so are other people: La Gloire de France, Deutschland uber alles, Britain rules the waves, Gods own Country to name a few. But they did not kill other people who did not believe as they did, Christianity Islam show another picture. So there is no justification to murder the Jews. Many Jews have contributed to society in a way that still vibrates through society: Spinazo, Disraeli, Einstein, etc. Of course, there are people who can't take that and among them the lower strata of society, from which Germany the SA, Hitler, Himmler and Rosenberg recruited. As always, there are two sides to a problem.
Winterhelp. The old Dutch charity organizations might be too dangerous for the victorious Germanics; some- how they must know that there is something wrong with their machinations, otherwise they would not be so afraid, they would not see ghosts behind every door. A pity, but in the end their feeling proved to be not unwarranted.
As far as I know only the family members of the Dutch nazzi's got this opportunity to go to the German recuperation centers. I never heard of any other cases and as the leader of the local "Dutch Union", I should have heard.
The Labour services. If you want to profit from the German ideas you had to have a lot more Germanic substance whatever that means. In our eyes it was plain Germanic arrogance. Well, they had to think good of themselves, nobody else did. It never penetrated their brains that such remarks only tended to widen the gap between the Dutch and the Germans; moreover it was not a very heroic remark directed at a people who's country was over run by the Germanic substance. Something like kicking somebody who was already down.
And reading all the labour bla-bla again, even now my blood started to boil. This Germanic people,who are directly responsible for the death of millions of people whose only mistake was that they were either not Germanic or who did not believe in Adolf Hitler and friends and the "principles" where they stood for, the Germanic people who were indirectly responsible for the death of 50 million people in a war they started. These people tried to get a hold of the younger generation, just as the churches with so much "hot air", trying to indoctrinate them.
Dutch and German languages. One is beginning to think that the Dutch education system was in a shamble; I know the German system was working alright, but so was the Dutch system. An uniform spelling of the Dutch language was promised and that was funny. The whole Dutch translation was in the old, complicated Dutch with the old double e's and o's, while in that time I was already writing the simplified version, which was than taught in the schools. Somebody must be mistaken or they fooled the man.
And now German as a world language. Here we go again, Deutchland uber alles! They are already dreaming of an all-Germanic Europe. Read the next paragraph. That's it, we had to become Germanic copies of the Germans. And how a pie in the sky can fool you, German over the whole world, pushing aside English, Spanish as international languages. I speak German, I learned it in High School,had to speak it extensively during the war and am still fluent in it. The only places where I could get around with German was Germany, Austria and part of Switzerland, a very small part of the world. And let's not forget that we were all over the world for centuries and had to speak many different tongues. It is still our contention that, as is for instance the policy of the Royal Dutch Shell, if you want to have contacts in a foreign country, you should speak their language. It is also polite. To think that German would replace the present world language, English,was and still is day dreaming.
I could not believe what I read here about a Dutch idylle. For how many centuries has this clutching to a so-called idylle served the Dutch nation, centuries in which there was no Germany, only a collection of barons, counts, princes and a few kings.
The victory of England. What a spite; realizing that through history Germany always had the backseat behind England. The USA was too far away, out of their sight. There were 10 million in Holland who could not see a defeat of England, 10 million of those stubborn and your father used to say, when he was teasing us, "goddamn Dutch. And than, when you can't win the argument, if nothing helps, than try to ridicule the British statesmen and leaders of the Army. Didn't he see how ridiculous Hitler's high-stepping peacocks were. As always, he who laughs last, laughs best.
Coming to the possibility of an Allied invasion and stamping this idea as senseless, it is clear that here we have an unbelievable miscalculation, a complacency, a delusion that is just as senseless as the German foreign policy. The Germans did collect enemies as of it were stamps. So the British would never have to fight alone. From all over Europe people fled to England to form a kind of Foreign Legion. The allied navy had ships from all seafaring nations of Europe. And than Hitler did a stupid thing. If he would have been the Germanic saint and wise man as the Germans saw him, he would never have declared war on the USA in 1941 after Pearl Harbour. This legitimized the American policy of assistance to the allies; lending destroyers, supplying weapons, food, etc. The Germans measured the British according to their own standards, everything standards, everything according to the rules, not much initiative for doing things out of line. England just had to wait because everybody outside Germany knew that one day the USA would join the allies.
Well there were more threats and miscalculations. When we go, we will take you with us, so civilized we were Too bad for them, they never got the chance. Every day 1000 American and every night 1000 British bombers I know, they came over the village where I lived. It was one of the checkpoints on the way to the Ruhr, the center of the German steel industry, Krupp.
How different did it turn out. The war was only one year old, the Germans still lived in the dream world of Hitler,they hadn't begun yet with their suicidal war with Russia. But even in Germany, under Nazzi rule, quiet voices spoke out to warn the people that Germany would never win and that the ruins would be in Germany too. Those voices were stilled in the German concentration camps. The Nazzis did not reason or argue, they killed specially in the end.
Talking about manufacturing weapons in the USA and bringing them to England, the Germans had no idea what the industrial possibilities in this country are. It asks for an answer. It is true that supplying the Allies from the American shores resulted in great losses particular in the beginning when there were not enough destroyers to protect the convoys; to reduce those losses in men,ships and materials the USA loaned the British destroyers and enacted the "lend and lease act". The German attitude showed a total lack of knowledge about the American industrial potentials and its flexibility. To quote Hitler as an armament expert is ridiculous but also saddening because of the delusion and poisoning of the German mind. Where did Hitler get his expertise, as a corporal in WW 1; he was a house painter, der Anstreicher. Well,history made mincemeat of the German aspirations and proficies.
And now the national heroes. Sabotage was not for material gains but for freedom gains, freedom from the Great German Empire, the Germanic ideals. It all boils down to what is the good and what is the bad side. And this is the crucial point in the relation between the Dutch and the Germans during the war. They couldn't convince each other. Even concentration camps and death squads were not convincing enough. Many lives were lost because of this.

And here are standing those proud Germans prepared to be torn to pieces. Does he really know what silly things he is saying?
Seyss Inquart perished on the gallows, Hitler killed himself in a bunker, as did Goebbels. Goering killed himself in the prison, Keitel, Jodel, Rosenberg, Franck and a few of the other actors in this drama were shot or hanged, Scheer got away with a prison term. Some fled to South-America, the dictators of Uruguay and Argentina where the Jews eventually caught up with them. National-socialism is dead, except for a few neo-nazzis and skin-heads. The whole national-socialistic show was a hollow shell, a balloon blown up till it burst, but it did cost 50 million (50,000,000) people their life's, men but more distressing women and children. From reading this bragging and boasting you can get an idea what the situation was and I am beginning to ask myself whether the Germans did not know, deep in their guts that it was a hollow shell they were sanctifying with, according to Seyss Inquart, a religious fanaticism. I know from experience, you could not talk with them, let alone argue. As if they were afraid that they were going to lose all, their Germanic idols, the Great German Empire, Europe, and this might have been the reason for their cruelties, their ruthlessness. To convince themselves? Revenge before the end?.
