046 The Main God with Limited Abilities
The operation to clear out the T-virus infected inside the Hive went smoothly.
Thanks to Red Queen's cooperation, the T-virus infected were well under control, and even the zombie dogs posed no uncontrollable threat.
After nearly an hour, only 16 Lickers remained in Laboratory B.
Led by Marcus, the group arrived at Laboratory B. Despite its name, it was clearly not a laboratory for food; the enormous cryogenic chambers looked ominous.
"Lickers!" The main character muttered to himself.
Marcus heard the muttering. "These are the T-virus Licker test subjects. They are currently sedated, so they are very stable."
Commando leader James, observing the Lickers through the observation window, asked, "How do we eliminate them?"
"There are many ways to eliminate them. The simplest way, of course, is to eliminate them while they are sedated," Marcus explained, then handed the main character an M4 carbine and four magazines.
"You eliminate them," Marcus ordered.
The veteran's eyes widened suddenly. He cautiously glanced at Marcus out of the corner of his eye. "Who exactly is this guy? Why is he deliberately giving benefits to the main character?"
The psychic looked envious. According to the Main God's pricing, one Licker was worth 500 points. There were 16 cryogenic test chambers in Laboratory B, which meant a whopping 8000 points!
The main character hesitated for a moment. "Really, let me do it?"
"Of course," Marcus nodded firmly.
The main character didn't hesitate any longer. "Thank you!"
"Red Queen, prepare to open the cryogenic test chamber door and increase the dosage of sedatives and muscle relaxants," Marcus ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Foster," Red Queen replied.
When the first cryogenic test chamber door was opened, the main character didn't hesitate to use his M4 carbine to aim at the Licker's head and fire.
The M4 carbine sprayed bullets, and it took about ten bullets to take down the first Licker.
"Killed a weakened Licker, gained 100 points."
The main character received a notification from the Main God. The Lickers, originally worth 500 points, were now only worth 100 points, leaving the Main God with no loopholes.
After all, the once dangerous Lickers were now limp and restrained; wasn't it normal for their value to decrease?
Although the Licker point reward had decreased, the main character still happily eliminated all sixteen Lickers.
Free points, so sweet!
As for owing favors?
The main character just wanted to ask if there was some misunderstanding about the Main God's space.
Anyway, they would complete the mission in less than five minutes and return to the Main God's space.
Could Marcus possibly chase them back to the Main God's space to demand favors?
The main character didn't believe it!
"Side quest completed: Thoroughly eliminate all T-virus infected within the Hive. Each participant receives 500 points and one D-level side quest."
The Main God's notification echoed in the minds of every member of the team.
The two struggling team members breathed a sigh of relief; now that they had 500 points, it meant they wouldn't be eliminated.
A hint of satisfaction flashed in the veteran's eyes. Even though it was just a D-level side quest, the veteran felt it was an unexpected bonus.
"Mr. Foster, what do we do next?" Strike Team Leader James asked. They had already eliminated all the T-virus infected in the Hive, and logically, they should return to Umbrella Corporation's headquarters.
The veteran interjected, "Excuse me, I need to use the restroom."
The psychic, being perceptive, glanced at her watch and chimed in, "I need to use the restroom too."
Another team member quickly added, "Me too."
In the end, including the main character, all seven members of the team indicated they needed to use the restroom.
Marcus looked at the main character with a knowing smile. "Remember, you owe me a favor."
The main character nodded. "Don't worry, Mr. Foster, I remember."
When all seven team members went to the restroom, James spoke up. "Mr. Foster, I think they're planning something."
Red Queen reminded him in the earpiece, "Mr. Foster, the Hive's restrooms also have surveillance systems."
"They are indeed planning something. Keep a close eye on them," Marcus naturally knew that their return time was approaching, and they were using the restroom as a cover for their departure.
James nodded and then instructed, "Jeddy, Kaplan, you two guard the restroom door."
Jeddy and Kaplan responded affirmatively and followed.
Red Queen also responded in the earpiece, "Mr. Foster, I have activated the restroom surveillance system. As you instructed, I only recorded the video, without analyzing lip movements or recording audio."
Marcus replied via subtle gestures, "Back up all video recordings using the previous processing method. Also, notify me immediately if any problems occur with the recordings."
"Okay, Mr. Foster." Following Marcus's instructions, Red Queen kept a close watch on the team.
Inside the restroom, the veteran, head down, asked in a low voice, "Why did Foster help you?"
The main character responded similarly, "I don't know either. Have you ever encountered a situation like this before?"
The veteran grimaced; he wanted to complain, but didn't know how. How could he have ever encountered a situation like Marcus before?
Marcus was clearly not a character from Resident Evil, but neither was he from the Main God Space, and he even showed he knew of its existence.
Where had the veteran ever met someone like this?
"By the way, Mr. Foster just reminded me that I owe him a favor. Is there any problem with that?" The main character asked hesitantly.
The veteran frowned. "I think there might be trouble. That Foster is very mysterious. He's clearly not from the Main God Space, but he knows about it. Nobody can guarantee we won't run into him again!"
The veteran added, "By the way, even in the Resident Evil world, we might come back a second time. So, if you promised him, you'd better keep your promise."
The main character gave a wry smile. He had originally thought that returning to the Main God Space would solve everything!
"Five-second countdown. In five seconds, we'll be back!" The veteran reminded him, looking at his watch.
Five seconds passed in the blink of an eye, and the team suddenly disappeared from the bathroom. Red Queen immediately issued a warning, "Mr. Foster, the team has disappeared from the bathroom!"
Red Queen continued, "I carefully reviewed the surveillance video, analyzing it frame by frame. They were still there in the previous frame, but completely disappeared in the next."
Marcus asked using subtle gestures, "Does your backup information still exist? Has the quantity changed?"
Red Queen replied, "All backup information exists, there are no abnormalities!"
Marcus's lips curled up. The Main God's abilities were indeed limited. Nearly fifteen million backup files, and the Main God couldn't erase them...
Perhaps because this is the Resident Evil world, the Main God's abilities are restricted?
