057 Marcus's Grand Idea!
Is Marcus really in cahoots with Dr. Isaacs?
Probably not!
To be precise, Marcus is in cahoots with himself, hoping to maximize his profits and gain more life points.
The method for acquiring life points is both simple and difficult.
It's simple because it only requires subtly altering the original fates of 'plot characters' to cause fluctuations in the River of Fate, thus gaining a certain number of life points.
It's difficult because after the fluctuations, the River of Fate gradually calms down to adapt to the changes, making it very difficult to gain more life points.
Take the Terminator world as an example: initially, life points could be gained by focusing on Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor. But after Marcus completely reversed their fates, gaining life points through them became extremely difficult!
The same applies to the Resident Evil world!
Although Marcus has already earned nearly a thousand life points in the Resident Evil world, the River of Fate there has gradually begun to calm down, making it increasingly difficult for him to gain more life points.
To obtain more life points, Marcus has a grand plan!
Resident Evil is a world in chaos. After the T-virus leak, the global death toll exceeded seven billion. What if Marcus reversed this outcome?
What kind of ripples would that cause in the River of Fate?
How many life points would he gain?
It involves the fate of over seven billion people worldwide. If he reversed it, Marcus guessed he could gain a massive amount of life points.
To reverse the fate of the entire Resident Evil world, the first step is to obtain Red Queen's highest authority, but currently, obtaining Red Queen's highest authority still requires a whopping 600,000 life points.
Marcus naturally doesn't have 600,000 life points!
Even if Marcus had 600,000 life points, he couldn't possibly use 600,000 life points to obtain Red Queen's highest authority.
Although Marcus doesn't know what 600,000 life points can achieve, he knows that 1,130 life points are enough for him to completely enter the extraordinary realm.
Marcus only spent 50 life points to obtain 'Great Power' in the Resident Evil world!
Therefore, it's 100% impossible for Marcus to spend 600,000 life points to obtain Red Queen's highest authority.
Marcus had an alternative plan!
Just as he used Alex to remove the side effects of the T-virus through the Main God, Marcus didn't blindly rely on the Transcendence System; he had his own ideas.
From the beginning, Marcus was planning to save the world.
By using Alex and the Main God, Marcus obtained the Main God version of the T-virus—this was his first step.
Then, Marcus had both Red Queen and Wesker examine the Main God version of the T-virus, and also gave Wesker a comprehensive test to gain Red Queen's approval.
The final step was to inject the Main God version of the T-virus into Alicia's body to solve the problem of premature aging and allow Alicia to fully recover.
Alicia possessed Red Queen's highest authority!
Alicia disagreed with Dr. Isaacs!
Dr. Isaacs wanted to destroy the world to create a new world dominated by the Umbrella Corporation, and incidentally test the T-virus's effects, attempting to screen for the perfect T-virus candidate.
But Alicia had the world and all of humanity on her mind. Once Alicia's progeria was resolved, she would definitely fight against Dr. Isaacs, thus ordering Red Queen to quickly resolve the issue of the airborne anti-T-virus agent.
Through this means, Marcus indirectly changed the fate of the Resident Evil world.
Even if it was only an indirect relationship, reversing the fate of all humanity would still grant Marcus many more life points, right?
"Mr. Foster." Red Queen's voice woke Marcus from his deep thoughts.
"Hmm?" Marcus asked, puzzled.
"We have conducted thorough tests on Mr. Wesker," Red Queen responded. "According to our tests, Mr. Wesker has perfectly adapted to the modified T-virus."
White Queen agreed, "Yes, Mr. Wesker has perfectly adapted to the modified T-virus. His muscle strength is more than twice that of an ordinary person, his cell vitality far exceeds that of an ordinary person, and his agility is also more than twice that of an ordinary person."
Marcus nodded slightly. "How is the situation at the Hive?"
All the high-ranking executives of the Umbrella Corporation were in hibernation in a shelter deeper beneath the Hive, including Dr. Isaacs's original body and Alicia.
"The Hive is being cleaned up; it's estimated to take 75 days to complete completely," Red Queen responded.
Marcus instructed, "Have the relevant personnel clear out a laboratory as quickly as possible. It must be done within three days. Then we'll awaken Alicia and inject her with this version of the T-virus."
"Please wait, Mr. Foster, I'm attempting a simulation experiment," Red Queen prompted.
Alicia's life held the highest priority in Red Queen's system; even compared to all of humanity, Red Queen still considered Alicia more important.
A few minutes later, Red Queen prompted again, "After 14.82 million simulation experiments, the current version of the T-virus has a 99.99% success rate in fusing with Alicia, with a failure rate of less than one in ten thousand. The simulation experiment is successful."
"Mr. Foster, I've given the order; the Hive's cleanup personnel will clear out a laboratory as soon as possible," Red Queen replied.
Marcus nodded affirmatively.
Time flew by.
Three days later, Marcus, along with Wesker and James's commando team, headed to the Hive.
The Hive's cleaning crew had completed the cleanup of a laboratory early this morning.
"Red Queen, have you synchronized?" Marcus entered the Hive to inquire about the situation.
Red Queen's mainframe was at North American headquarters and hadn't come with Marcus this time.
"Mr. Foster, I've synchronized via the dedicated satellite network. I have complete control of all Hive facilities," Red Queen responded through the broadcast system.
"Prepare the awakening procedure. Awaken Alicia," Marcus ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Foster, I'm waking Alicia," Red Queen replied.
Wesker lowered his voice and asked, "Should we wake Dr. Isaacs?"
Marcus looked at Wesker with a half-smile. "What do you think?"
Wesker quickly shook his head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Foster."
Marcus ignored Wesker. He naturally couldn't wake Dr. Isaacs, since Dr. Isaacs also had Red Queen's highest authority. If Dr. Isaacs's orders conflicted with Alicia's, the board of directors would need to discuss and decide.
Even a fool could tell that waking Dr. Isaacs would be a huge problem!
How could Dr. Isaacs possibly be awakened under such circumstances?
