Chapter 43 - Chapter 40

Breakfast, Bragging, and a Dragon Before Tea

Breakfast at Hogwarts was usually noisy.

Today, it was louder.

"I'm telling you," Ron's voice carried across the Gryffindor table, "Harry's the Seeker now. Fastest flyer ever. Practically unbeatable. You should've seen me—"

At the Hufflepuff table, Lucien, Akeno, and Susan paused at the exact same time.

"…Idiot," they said in perfect unison.

They blinked.

Looked at each other.

And laughed softly.

"Let's eat," Lucien said calmly.

Gryffindor Gets a Surprise

Midway through breakfast, an owl swooped down and dropped a long package in front of Harry.

Harry froze.

Ron gasped. "NO WAY."

Harry tore it open.

A broom.

A very good broom.

Lucien smiled softly. Professor McGonagall, he thought. Of course.

Harry glanced over instinctively.

Lucien gave him a small nod of approval.

Harry beamed.

Hufflepuff Answers Back

Moments later, another owl descended.

This one didn't hesitate.

It landed neatly in front of Lucien and dropped a similar package.

Lucien opened it calmly.

A Nimbus 2000—sleek, perfectly balanced, custom-made.

Lucien's eyes flicked briefly toward the staff table.

Snape met his gaze.

Lucien nodded once in thanks.

Snape looked away.

But the corner of his mouth twitched.

When Owls Know Better Than to Fly

Suddenly, every owl in the Great Hall froze.

Then—one by one—they scrambled under tables.

Students looked around in confusion.

The doors burst open.

A light-orange dragon flew in gracefully, wings barely disturbing the air. She scanned the hall, eyes sharp—then softened when she spotted Lucien.

She landed gently beside the Hufflepuff table and dropped several letters straight into Lucien's bag.

Lucien smiled. "Thank you."

Akeno reached out and patted the dragon's round stomach. "Good girl."

The dragon hummed happily and hugged her.

The Great Hall went silent.

Then—

"What."

"Is."

"That."

Cedric stared. Tonks' jaw dropped.

"…Is that your dragon?" Tonks whispered.

Lucien nodded calmly. "Yes."

Penelope and Angelina rushed over and hugged the dragon without hesitation.

"She's grown!" Angelina laughed.

The dragon hugged them back enthusiastically.

Old Friends

Harry stared. Ron looked like he'd forgotten how to breathe.

"L-Lucien," Harry asked slowly, "is that… your dragon?"

Lucien nodded again. "She's a bit spoiled."

From Lucien's lap, Alolan Vulpix leapt up onto the dragon's shoulder and greeted her proudly.

The dragon nuzzled back.

The hall collectively died from cuteness.

Dumbledore, Pajamas, and Phoenix Respect

The doors opened again.

This time, Dumbledore was dragged in by Fawkes.

He was wearing pajamas.

Bright ones.

The students burst into laughter.

Dumbledore adjusted his glasses calmly, took in the scene, and smiled.

"…Ah," he said. "She's grown quite well."

Lucien nodded. "She has."

"When she was born," Lucien added mildly, "she turned the entire mansion upside down."

The dragon puffed out her chest proudly.

Lucien looked at her. "That was not a compliment."

Fawkes floated down and bowed respectfully to the dragon.

The dragon blinked—then looked at Lucien, tail swishing.

"…Go," Lucien said.

With a happy chirp, the dragon and phoenix flew out together.

Shockwaves

"She's four years old," Lucien mentioned casually to Dumbledore.

The Great Hall exploded.

"FOUR?!"

"That big?!"

"That friendly?!"

Even the professors looked stunned.

Dumbledore smiled warmly. "You may visit me sometime, Lucien. Here's the password."

He whispered it—and left.

Requests Immediately Follow

Tonks, Hermione, Harry, Cassandra, Draco, Daphne, and Susan all spoke at once.

"Can we meet her again?"

"She's adorable!"

"Please?"

Akeno, Penelope, and Angelina answered together.

"She doesn't like strangers."

Lucien nodded. "But… I'll find a way."

They all nodded eagerly.

Because one thing was certain:

Hogwarts had just met a dragon.

And everyone wanted to be friends with her.
