Chapter 1 - Reincarnation

A kid was walking across the crossing when suddenly he heard someone shouting at him to move. He lifted his head, only to see the blinding headlights of a speeding truck right in front of him.

"Fuck…"

That was the only word that left his mouth as the truck slammed into him, sending his body flying through the air. He crashed onto the pavement, his blood pooling beneath him.

Darkness didn't come all at once.

It crept in slowly… like ink spreading through water.

The boy couldn't feel his body anymore. The pain, the noise, the shouting—everything faded into a distant echo, like it belonged to someone else.

For a moment, there was nothing.

Then—

A faint hum.

Not sound… not exactly. More like a vibration deep inside his mind.

…System initializing…

A flicker of light pierced the void.

The boy's consciousness stirred.

System?Am I… dreaming?

Fragments of memory surfaced—the crossing, the headlights, his mother's scream—

—and then silence again.

…Host vital signs: terminated…

Searching for compatible reality…

Searching…

Searching…

Suddenly—

A violent pull.

It felt like his very soul was being dragged through a narrow tunnel, stretched, twisted, compressed beyond imagination.

"Gah—!"

His eyes snapped open.

Air rushed into his lungs like fire.

But something was wrong.

It wasn't his room… nor a hospital room one would expect after waking up from such an accident.

Instead, Drake opened his eyes to find himself in a small yet cozy room.

"What is happening…?" he mumbled, looking around, wondering if he had been in a long coma and was only now waking up.

Ding.

A translucent screen appeared before his eyes.

[Superior Template System Activated]

Host: Healthy

Status: Reincarnated

World Identified: Marvel Universe

Drake blinked at the floating screen.

Slowly, he raised his hand… and pinched his own cheek.

"Damn… that hurts…"

For a second, silence filled the room.

Then—

"Hahahahaha!"

Drake burst out laughing like a madman.

"Damn! It's fucking real!" he shouted, pumping his fist into the air.

"Drake, are you alright?! I heard you shouting!"

The door suddenly burst open.

Drake's eyes widened.

Melinda May.

His breath hitched as he stared at her, recognition flashing instantly. At the same time, a flood of unfamiliar memories surged into his mind, making him clutch his head.

"Drake, are you alright?" she asked again, concern evident in her voice.

She stepped closer and placed a hand on his forehead.

"Do you have a fever?"

Drake quickly shook his head.

"I'm fine… it was just a dream," he said, forcing a sigh as if he had lost something important.

Melinda chuckled softly, ruffling his hair.

"Alright then. Go get ready—you're getting late for school," she said before turning and leaving the room.

Drake watched her go, his eyes narrowing slightly.

So… I was adopted by her…

But there was no such instance in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D… so why am I here?

He exhaled slowly.

I have to be careful…

His gaze swept across the room.

Who knows if even my room is bugged… with her being a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

Thinking, Drake fell back on bed while inwardly saying.

'System can we talk mentally?' he asked.

[ Of course Host ]

Drake nodded and then asked ' What is your function?'

[Core Ability: Superior Template Acquisition]

→ Obtain "Superior Templates" from individuals who owe you favor, debt, or loyalty.

→ Templates grant abilities, intelligence, skills, and potential beyond the original.

[Current Templates: None]

So… it's basically a template system, Drake thought, staring at the screen. But I get a superior version of anyone I help… or anyone who owes me a favor.

He slowly nodded, a smile creeping onto his face.

With this… I can easily become insanely powerful.

His eyes gleamed with excitement.

And if my memories are correct… Spider-Man is in my class.

Drake closed his eyes, going through the memories that didn't belong to him.

Yeah… it's Peter Parker. But not the usual one—this one looks like the Amazing Spider-Man version.

There's also Harry… but not the sick one from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This one feels more like the confident version from Ultimate Spider-Man.

And MJ… yeah, she's here too. Cool, confident… also from Ultimate Spider-Man.

Drake frowned slightly.

Though right now, Peter probably hasn't gotten his spider powers yet…

He tapped his chin thoughtfully.

And the year… it's around mid-2006? I'm not completely sure if my knowledge will help me much in this alternate MCU now.

There are lot of mixing here not just the MCU.

More like some alternate version where different timelines are mixed together.

Drake leaned back slightly, exhaling.

Which means… I can't rely too much on canon.

I have to acquire a template fast, he thought.

He stood up and headed to freshen up for the day.

Drake splashed cold water on his face and looked at himself in the mirror.

A kid stared back.

" Hahhh, I am back to being a kid once again" Drake mumbled looking at the reflection in the mirror.

He quickly brushed his teeth, changed into his school clothes, and grabbed his bag.

His mind was already racing.

First goal—get a template.

Second—don't act suspicious.

Third—find the best target.

He walked out of his room and saw Melinda in the kitchen.

"Breakfast is on the table," she said without turning.

"Okay," Drake replied calmly.

He sat down and ate quickly, but his eyes kept observing everything—camera angles, window positions, possible blind spots.

She's a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent… better assume everything is monitored.

After finishing, he picked up his bag.

"I'm leaving."

"Be careful," she replied.

*****

The classroom buzzed with noise.

Students talking, laughing, some half-asleep.

Drake entered quietly and scanned the room.

Then he saw him.

A skinny boy, messy hair, sitting alone, focused on something in his notebook.

Peter Parker.

According to my memories, the original Drake didn't have much interaction with Peter… and whatever there was, it wasn't pleasant, Drake thought, frowning as he looked through the memories, finding himself bullying Peter alongside Flash Thompson.

Hmm… still, he isn't my main target for the first template.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

My goal is clear—Iron Man.

A young Tony Stark…

If I help him discover the new element earlier and stabilize his arc reactor faster than in the original timeline, I can easily make him owe me a huge favor.

Drake leaned back in his seat, a faint smirk forming on his lips.

And once that happens…

The first Superior Template will be mine.
