Chapter 28 - The Difference Between People

"A duck?"

Sorcerer Ancient One was stunned for a moment.

Although she was old, she felt her ears weren't failing her yet, and she shouldn't have misheard "DARK" as "DUCK."

But, wasn't this just ridiculous?

What did Dracula have to do with a duck... "Quack, quack, quack—"

Sorcerer Ancient One suddenly looked at Dracula's body. At the very moment Li Pu uttered his "Duck Theory," the resurrected Dracula finally grew a head.

However, the head that grew out was actually a duck's head!

As the duck head grew, the Vampire progenitor's body also rapidly shrank until he was about the size of a three or four-year-old child.

When Dracula regained consciousness and saw the trio of Sorcerer Ancient One, Li Pu, and his son, he was so frightened that he cursed on the spot.

But as a result, the moment the curse left his mouth, it was "automatically muted" and turned into a series of "quacks."

Dracula reached out in surprise to touch his face. After repeatedly confirming for a long time, he stared wide-eyed at the Sorcerer Supreme.

"Ancient One, what did you do to me?"

In his understanding, his current situation was undoubtedly the result of some kind of magic. And who else on Earth was the most skilled at magic?

This time, she was indeed wrongly accused.

But Sorcerer Ancient One didn't refute him—mainly because there was no time. Seeing that Dracula had truly turned into a duck, the Sorcerer Supreme immediately used both hands to unlock the Eye of Agamotto hanging from her chest.

The Time Stone hidden within this Divine Artifact emitted a green light, and Sorcerer Ancient One's entire being suddenly became very illusory.

Like the flickering of an old television, in the eyes of others, she seemed to turn into frame after frame of jumping images.

After a moment, Sorcerer Ancient One's figure solidified again, and the Eye of Agamotto closed once more.

"As expected, Dracula should be a duck."

A relaxed smile appeared on Sorcerer Ancient One's face.

Although it was indeed an unthought-of method, after "browsing" many future scenarios where Dracula was turned into a duck, the Sorcerer Supreme was surprised to find that this might indeed be a good way.

At the very least, she hadn't found a single future timeline that would become worse because of this change.

So, the Sorcerer Supreme, in a good mood, summoned a portal and threw Dracula, who was incessantly "quacking" (cursing) at her, through it.

The other side of the portal wasn't on Earth, but in the home of a certain Cosmic Elder with a penchant for collecting.

Sorcerer Ancient One believed that the Cosmic Elder would definitely be very interested in Dracula-turned-duck and wouldn't be willing to let him out.

Did he think he could just curse at the Sorcerer Supreme? Did he really think she had no temper?

Anyone who thought so should really go to Asgard to find God King Odin, or go to the Demon Lords of the Seven Dimensions, and ask them what kind of person Ancient One really was.

After dealing with the fellow who, instead of Dracula, might as well be called Duckula, Sorcerer Ancient One's mood improved significantly.

She turned her head to look at Li Pu and his son:

"Though I still don't understand why a bit of ketchup could fix a bug like Dracula...

But for many years to come, this World's Earth will indeed have one less unstable factor.

Outsiders, thank you.

Therefore, I want to give you a gift."

After saying that, she gave a light wave of her hand, and four circular tracks composed of thousands of constantly "flowing" magical runes appeared out of thin air, surrounding Sorcerer Ancient One and the Li Pu father-son trio.

"This is a Spell I've modified. Its original name was the 'Kafkal's Knot,' but now it's called 'Ancient One's Ring of True Memory.'"

The commotion near your house tonight was truly not small and attracted a lot of attention.

But once this Spell takes effect, everyone else in the World except the four of us will forget what happened here..."

Seeing Sorcerer Ancient One cast the Spell, Li Pu suddenly remembered the movie "Spider-Man: No Way Home" he had seen before his Transmigration.

In that movie, Sorcerer Ancient One's Disciple, Doctor Strange, used the "Kafkal's Knot" and almost caused a World-ending crisis.

Thinking of this, Li Pu hurriedly said, "Wait a moment, Sorcerer Ancient One, are there any risks in using this Spell?

For example, attracting everyone from other parallel Worlds who knows the truth about tonight to this Universe?

You know, the number of parallel Universes is infinite, so wouldn't the number of people who know about this approach infinity?

If an infinite number of people are all stuffed in at once, wouldn't it burst this Universe?"

Hearing Li Pu's words, Sorcerer Ancient One couldn't help but be slightly stunned.

She hadn't expected that the seemingly reckless Li Pu would have such a meticulous side.

"Knowing to remain vigilant against power you cannot control," Ancient One smiled and nodded. "Outsider, you are truly quite good. Perhaps you can come to Kamar-Taj for a visit in the future.

However, the Spell I'm using is called 'Ancient One's Ring of True Memory,' no longer the original 'Ring of Kafkal.'

A Spell named after me; when I cast it, I have absolute control over it."

Sorcerer Ancient One confidently waved her hand, and the four circular tracks of magical runes rippled outwards, sweeping toward the distance.

At first, the Spell spread slowly, but then it became faster and faster.

After only a few seconds, the Spell swept across the entire World, and the four circular tracks of magical runes vanished into the air.

In an instant, the World became peaceful again, as if it were always meant to be this way.

Li Pu looked left and right, and indeed didn't find the scenes from the movie he had seen; the huge cracks that appeared after Strange cast the Spell didn't appear in this World.

"The gap between people, tsk tsk tsk..."

Li Pu couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

At the same time, he also secretly complained about certain "Sorcerer Supremes," wondering if they had paid the screenwriters to get that "Supreme" title?
