"Whoa!"
Li Pu was slightly taken aback.
He hadn't expected the Bullet Mine to be so close to them; he had actually been running his fast-food business all afternoon right next to such a handmade landmine.
Realizing that the tragic state of the two people in front of him was somewhat "R-rated," he initially wanted to quickly cover little Koz and little Broly's eyes.
But after a second thought, Li Pu gave up on the idea.
The two children had already seen it anyway.
Better to guide them than to block them.
Moreover, for two extraordinary children to survive well in the crisis-filled Marvel Universe, getting used to facing bloodshed early on might not be a bad thing.
But even so, Li Pu still felt that these people before his eyes were truly inferior to the Vampires he had slaughtered before.
When a Vampire died, they would turn into a pile of ash with a "shing," and then all it took was a gust of wind to blow them away.
How eco-friendly was that way of dying?
Looking at the Butcher and the Repairman who were blown apart by the Bullet Mine, they died in such a bloody mess, and right next to the food truck to boot—wasn't this just looking to cause trouble for others?
Li Pu would have to change locations when he came to set up his stall tomorrow, not just because he was afraid of bad luck, but more out of hygiene considerations.
As for today, Li Pu regretfully estimated that his plan to set up the stall tonight would probably fall through once again.
"Fox, don't you touch my son!"
Following that thunderous roar, a garbage truck suddenly drove out from the street corner.
The driver was wearing a garbage collector's uniform but was controlling the steering wheel with only one hand.
In his other hand, he held an MP5.
"Da, da, da..."
9mm bullets whistled out, raining down toward the beautiful Fox on the ground and Mr. X behind the flower bed.
Even though he was holding the submachine gun with one hand, this man's marksmanship was still extremely accurate, with not a single bullet wasted.
Some bullets clearly passed right next to Li Pu's food truck, but that "Little Red" didn't even have a single chip of paint scratched off in the end.
The MP5 in his hand was fitted with a special "dual-drum" feeding device, totaling a hundred bullets, all of which he emptied within the dozen or so meters it took to drive the garbage truck from the corner.
The garbage truck charged directly onto the sidewalk, and by the time it came to a complete stop, the man had already rushed out from the door on the other side of the cab.
He had already thrown away the empty MP5 and now held two pistols in his hands—in a real battle, switching guns is always faster than changing magazines.
This was an expert!
To Li Pu's slight surprise, upon seeing such a sharpshooter appear, the beautiful Fox didn't feel any fear; instead, a hint of joy appeared on her face.
She had just used the Repairman's corpse to block several 9mm submachine gun rounds for herself, and the red dress she wore was now stained with large, suspicious wet patches from the latter's blood.
At this moment, Fox also had two Glocks in her hands and began to use her weapons to suppress the man hidden behind the garbage truck.
That's right, across a garbage truck, this great beauty started firing at that man.
Moreover, this wasn't some kind of stress response from being under fire, nor was there anything fishy about the guns or bullets in her hands.
The reason she could suppress the opponent across an obstacle was entirely because Fox had a rather special technique—
The bullets she fired could curve!
At the moment of pulling the trigger, with a slight flick of her wrist, the bullets leaving the barrel would trace an arc, curving around the garbage truck to shoot at the man hiding behind it.
She stood right by the trunk of her Dodge Viper, firing both pistols alternately; the sharpshooter behind the garbage truck could only hunker down behind the vehicle, unable to effectively return fire.
"Fox, I dare you to stop standing there!" the man let out an angry roar.
Li Pu couldn't help but feel a sliver of sympathy for him.
Because Li Pu sensed the presence of a person inside the trunk of that Dodge Viper, and combined with the man's earlier shout of "don't touch my son"... the conclusion was quite obvious.
And just as Fox was using "biological armor" to temporarily suppress Kross, Mr. X, who had been hiding behind the flower bed, also moved.
With a "shing" sound, he lunged out from behind the flower bed, his speed much faster than an average person.
Not only that, besides the oversized pistol with a scope from before, this short-statured man in a suit also pulled out another equally "bulky" Flintlock Pistol from his briefcase.
Bang!
After jumping out, the large Flintlock Pistol in his hand fired. The gunshot was incredibly loud, sounding like a cannon blast.
A large lead ball erupted from the muzzle, directly piercing through the cargo hold of the garbage truck, opening a large hole on each side.
The kinetic energy carried by the projectile was extremely powerful, pushing the several-ton truck sideways by a few centimeters.
As the gunshot rang out, Mr. X also leaped onto the top of the garbage truck, intending to use his other "big gun" to take the opportunity to kill Kross, who was hiding behind the vehicle.
However... Mr. X: "F*CK!"
Even faster than the "F" word coming out of his mouth, a "Holy crap" burst into Li Pu's mind, and he immediately grabbed little Broly and Koz, instantly retreating dozens of meters away.
Li Pu's movement speed was faster than a bullet; the airflow generated by his high-speed movement even blew up the beautiful Fox's skirt.
However, Fox didn't even have time to say anything before the sonic boom from his movement was drowned out by an even louder explosion.
It turned out that Kross had installed a large array of pressure-sensitive resistors on the roof of the garbage truck; the moment Mr. X stepped on it, he was caught, and the directional explosives hidden inside the truck were detonated.
The roof of the garbage truck was blown clean off, and Mr. X, standing on top, bore the brunt of it, being turned into a sieve by the spraying metal jets.
Even worse, although it was a directional bomb—with most of the explosive force directed upward—the rapidly expanding airflow still tore apart the garbage truck's cargo hold, and the garbage inside was instantly sprayed out by the blast.
Li Pu's food truck, "Little Red," was not spared either; while its windows were shattered by the shockwave, the entire vehicle was also tragically "baptized" by garbage.
"Are you kidding me!"
Li Pu swore that the next time he encountered such a spectacle, he would definitely turn around and leave immediately, never staying to watch again.
Now his food truck not only had to be taken for repairs, but it also had to be thoroughly cleaned inside and out; maybe even the pots and pans inside would have to be replaced.
Wasn't this just a complete case of undeserved misfortune?
"Broly, Koz, you guys stay here and don't move; I need to go talk to them." Li Pu took off his apron and handed it to the two children for safekeeping.
"In case those people all die out, no one will be left to take responsibility for our family's food truck."
