Chapter 64 - Chapter 64 The Messenger

The next morning, Draconis sat in the Lord's Hall, handling various affairs of the territory.

He had already given the Apricorns and iron ore to Morik yesterday, and all he could do now was wait.

"I hope Morik can research something useful from that blueprint!" Draconis thought to himself.

With Poké Balls, it would be much more convenient for him to carry Pokémon when he went out, and he could also capture more Pokémon.

"Hoo!"

Draconis slowly exhaled. He opened his territory panel to check the satisfaction collection status.

[Lord Name: Draconis]

[Territory: Village (Unnamed for now)]

[Citizens (Humans): 78 people (Click to view details)]

[Citizens (Pokémon): 28 (Click to view details)]

[Popular Support: 30]

[Satisfaction: 468]

[Technology: Gathering, Basic Herbalism, Fishing, Animal Husbandry, Basic Processing]

After a winter's accumulation, the once depleted satisfaction had risen to 468.

According to Draconis's observations, the conditions for the increase in satisfaction among the territory's citizens were both simple and difficult.

Whether they were human citizens or Pokémon citizens, when they felt satisfied with their current lives, or happy because of a certain event or item, satisfaction would be generated within them.

Just yesterday, Draconis also saw the thirty points of satisfaction provided by the three Petilil.

"Just 32 more points, and I can unlock the Advanced Herbalism technology."

Draconis pondered as he scanned the panel.

Just then, he suddenly noticed something strange.

"Huh? How did the Pokémon citizens increase by one?"

Clicking on the details, it completely recorded the current number and types of Pokémon in the territory.

Three Snover, two Bouffalant, one Dratini, one Zorua, one Snivy, five Minccoo, six Magikarp, one Dugtrio, three Petilil.

That makes twenty-three.

Adding Ryan's Simisear, Pidove, Patrat, and Foongus, there were twenty-seven in total.

So where did this extra one come from?

Draconis carefully checked the list of Pokémon citizens and soon saw a familiar name on it.

[Pidove]

Not Ryan's Pidove, but another Pidove.

[Pokémon: Pidove]

[Attribute: Normal, Flying]

[Gender: Male]

[Ability: Super Luck]

[Moves: Gust, Growl, Glare, Quick Attack]

[Friendship: 0]

[Pokémon Life History: In the 148th year of the Kingdom Calendar, Pidove was born.]

[In the 149th year of the Kingdom Calendar, Pidove was attacked in the forest, resulting in an injured wing and inability to fly. Fortunately, it was rescued by Olaf, and after its injuries healed, Pidove decided to stay and live with Olaf.]

Olaf... Draconis was slightly stunned, then he saw this name among his human citizens.

This was a good thing!

His citizens actually dared to actively interact with Pokémon. If so, would the future he wanted to create, where humans and Pokémon live together, be far off?

Just then, Old Butler Alfred walked in from outside.

Behind him, followed a very young man.

"Your Highness Draconis! I have found the person to search for nearby human villages and towns!" Olaf said.

Draconis looked at the man.

The man was about twenty years old, with chestnut hair and a baby face, looking a bit naive.

Alfred introduced, "His name is Olaf. This child used to be responsible for delivering letters in the royal city, often traveling between various towns. He has rich wilderness survival experience..."

Before Alfred could finish, Draconis caught a familiar name.

"Olaf?"

"Your... Your Highness!" Seemingly seeing such an important figure for the first time, Olaf appeared a bit nervous, but he quickly bowed.

"I heard you saved a monster, is that right?" Draconis asked.

"Ah?" Olaf immediately tensed up, "Ye-yes! But please don't worry, Your Highness, that monster won't harm anyone!"

Seeing his appearance, Draconis couldn't help but chuckle.

"No need to be nervous. I never said not to save monsters. On the contrary, you did very well." Draconis asked, "I just want to ask, aren't you afraid of monsters?"

Olaf hesitated for a moment, shook his head, and replied, "That monster won't harm anyone... Its name is Pidove, and my master also has one. It helps my master deliver letters."

"When I was in the royal city, my master taught me how to raise monsters like Pidove and use their power to help deliver letters, so I'm not afraid of it..."

"Delivering letters?" Draconis was slightly taken aback.

Olaf nodded, "That's right, Pidove are very intelligent monsters. Although they are a bit not-so-smart, they can remember all kinds of complex routes. As long as you build a good relationship with them and give them commands, they can help deliver letters, no matter how far, they can deliver the letter to the recipient."

As Olaf finished speaking, Draconis also received a prompt.

[Your citizen Olaf has shared a new technology with you: "Messenger".]

[Messenger: The technology to train Pidove as carrier pigeons. With it, no matter how far away the recipient is, Pidove can deliver it on time.]

Draconis was slightly stunned.

But he quickly reacted.

Draconis exchanged glances with Old Butler Alfred beside him, then asked, "Can it deliver letters to the royal city?"

Olaf nodded, "Yes."

"Doesn't Pidove need to get familiar with the route first?" Draconis asked.

"Pidove, this kind of monster, has an innate memory for routes. Even if you don't tell them the route, as long as you tell them the destination and the recipient's characteristics and name, they can find the place themselves."

Olaf recalled what his master used to say, then continued:

"Master said that Pidove will find other Pidove and get the specific location of the destination from them. Speaking of which, the intelligence network among Pidove is even more impressive than ours humans!"

Draconis: "..." As expected of amazing Pokémon.

"Can it deliver now?" Draconis quickly asked about the main business.

"Of course, I have already tamed that Pidove, and it listens to me very well now!" Olaf nodded.

"In that case, I hope you can help me deliver this letter to my royal father." Draconis took out the letter he had written.

"Yes!" Olaf instinctively agreed.

"Also, I have another task for you." Draconis opened the nearby map and said to Olaf, "I need you to search for nearby villages or towns, because we were previously lost. Only by finding a Gathering point for people can we confirm our current location. This task is very important, so I'm counting on you, Alfred."

"Yes, I guarantee to complete the mission!" Olaf quickly said.

*

After leaving His Highness Draconis, Olaf returned to his wooden house with an excited heart.

He didn't expect that His Highness would give him such an important task...

Does this mean that His Highness intends to heavily use on him?

Realizing that this might be a good opportunity to make a name for himself, Olaf's breathing became heavy.

He must not let down His Highness Draconis's expectations!

Thinking of this, Olaf found Pidove and tied the letter to its leg with a rope.

"Pidove, take this letter to His Majesty the King in Eindoak Royal City! I'm counting on you!" Olaf said to Pidove, imitating his master's old manner.

With the command given, Pidove cooed twice, then flapped its wings and flew straight into the sky.
