As Peni Parker sat in the darkness, feeling small and worried about her own world, the sound of footsteps echoed behind her. She spun around quickly, her eyes widening as Peter walked into the light.
"Peter! You're just in time," Peni chirped, jumping down from her robot. "I've finished my part of the work! Come see!"
Peter walked over and patted Peni on her head. He looked up at her spider-mech, which stood tall and silent in the shadows of the vault. "Everyone else is ready, Peni. Now, it's your turn. Let me give your friend a little boost."
Peter raised his right hand. A quiet, deep blue electric light burst from his palm, hummed with power. He pressed his hand against the cold metal leg of the robot.
He didn't just use one skill. He activated both Mechanical Limit Breaker and Efficient Energy Saving at the same time.
Buzz!
The room was filled with a dazzling blue glow. The very shape of the robot's armor began to shift and smooth out. Peni watched, her jaw dropping.
"The metal is changing... right in front of me!" she whispered. "Is this magic or science?"
"What's the difference?" Peter replied, his eyes focused on the energy flow. "At the end of the day, it's all about how you use it. Just watch and learn, Peni."
When the light faded, the robot stood taller, its armor gleaming with a new, dark finish.
"It's done," Peter said. "Go ahead and check on your old friend. I've overhauled the energy core and added a few surprises to the weapon systems."
Peni scrambled back into her cockpit and ran a diagnostic check. Her eyes nearly popped out of her head. "Oh my god! The battery life has doubled! And the armory... it's huge!"
Thanks to the Efficient Energy Saving talent, the mech could now fight for twice as long without a recharge. And thanks to the Mechanical Limit Breaker, the robot's hands could now transform into G-1 Korona pulse cannons. Even better, the hands could detach and fly on their own for long-range aerial combat.
Peni cheered, hugging the control stick of her upgraded machine.
Peter took a moment to check his system screen.

He had passed the halfway mark to the next level. He had skill points he could use to force an upgrade, but he was smart—he wanted to earn the level-up through hard work first. That way, he could use his points later to reach even higher tiers of power.
He looked back at the massive, dark shape hidden in the corner of the room. It was the result of three days of non-stop work between him and Peni. In the battle to come, this would be the "Trump Card" that would decide the fate of the multiverse.
The King's Army
While the Spiders were getting stronger, the villains weren't just sitting around. Kingpin knew that this new group of "Spiders" was dangerous. He was a man who understood power, and he knew that money was the best way to get it.
Kingpin spent an astronomical amount of cash to hire The Hand—a mysterious cult of ninja assassins. These ninjas were fast, strong, and completely insane. They worshipped a demon known as "The Beast," which gave them power but robbed them of their minds. They were the ultimate "suicide squad." When they died, their bodies simply turned to ash, leaving no trace behind.
Next, Kingpin reinforced his elite team. He bought a massive shipment of weapons from Hammer Industries to upgrade the Prowler's suit. Then, he hired two more heavy-hitters: the wall-crushing Scorpion and the indestructible Tombstone.
But Kingpin's most dangerous move was what he did to himself.
The Injection
In the deepest level of the ALCHEMAX labs, Kingpin lay strapped into a heavy metal chair. Thick alloy chains held his massive arms and legs in place.
Dr. Olivia Octavius stood over him, her mechanical arms holding two large syringes. One was filled with the Green Goblin's Enhancement Formula. The other held the Lizard DNA Serum.
Kingpin's plan was simple and terrifying. He wanted to open the portal, find a version of his wife and daughter, and take them by force. He didn't care if they were "his" family or not—he just wanted to satisfy his own heart. To do that, he had to be strong enough to kill anyone who stood in his way, including other versions of himself.
"Otto! Stop talking and do it!" Kingpin growled, his face twisted with a mad hunger.
Doc Ock didn't hesitate. She slowly injected both serums directly into Kingpin's veins. She watched closely, ready to stop if his heart exploded, but she knew what he wanted.
As the chemicals flooded his system, Kingpin's face became monstrous. His muscles began to bulge and grow even larger, his skin thickening like a lizard's hide. He wasn't just a man anymore. He was becoming something much worse.
