Karn's feet tightened against the pavement, but before he could ground himself, his body was yanked across the shattered asphalt like a broken sack. In a blur of motion, he was dragged directly into Tobey Maguire's striking range.
Tobey took a sharp, predatory breath. Using the unique properties of the Symbiote Battle Suit, he allowed the dark mass to concentrate in his right arm. The limb swelled violently, reaching more than twice its original volume as the alien cells reinforced the musculature to an impossible degree.
The power behind the coming blow was calculated at a staggering 50 tons. To put that in perspective, even a heavy-duty semi-truck would be reduced to scrap metal if it met this fist head-on.
Boom!
The punch cut through the air with such velocity that it produced a terrifying sonic roar. However, just as Tobey expected to reduce the stranger to dust, the impossible happened. With a speed that bypassed human perception, Karn raised his right hand. He simply spread his palm and caught the 50-ton impact.
Puff!
The shockwave caused the concrete beneath their feet to cave in by over a meter, sending a cloud of pulverized stone and dust into the air. The clash of titans ended in a dead draw.
"Impressive strength," Karn mused, his hand firmly clamped over Tobey's fist. "You are the strongest Spider-Totem I have hunted. Unfortunately for you... my strength is greater."
The Totem Drain
Karn didn't give Tobey a chance to recover. He tightened his grip on Tobey's fist and released his energy fork. His left hand, fingers as sharp as surgical blades, plunged into Tobey's enlarged arm.
Instantly, the massive arm began to shrivel. Tobey's abundant life force was being siphoned away, flowing directly into Karn. Tobey felt a paralyzing chill seize his soul, his vision flickering to black as he slipped into unconsciousness.
Karn, however, felt a twinge of annoyance. He realized he was currently absorbing the life force of the parasitic symbiote rather than Tobey's pure Totem energy. But it mattered little to him; the black cells would soon burn out, leaving the host's body a desiccated husk.
Just as the black suit withered, exposing Tobey's pale face, a pumpkin-sized object whistled through the air.
Boom!
A signature Pumpkin Bomb from Green Goblin II detonated against Karn's back. The explosion threw Karn several meters, forcing him to release his grip on Tobey.
Gwen moved in an instant, firing a barrage of webs that bound Karn like a "zongzi" in mid-air. Simultaneously, Harry's Green Goblin Darts circled Karn, carving countless lacerations into his body. Strangely, the wounds didn't bleed; beneath Karn's skin was a shimmering, golden energy. His very cells were composed of raw power.
Heavenly Justice
Karn wasn't angry—he was delighted. "Hahaha! A Spider-Man who actually comes to me? You are a rare breed indeed!"
With a casual flex, Karn shattered the webbing. He transformed into a streak of electricity, lunging toward Gwen. Harry dove on his glider, raining down bombs to provide cover, while Gwen utilized her enhanced speed to pull Karn into a pursuit.
Then, a familiar voice roared from the clouds.
"Gwen! Harry! Get out of the way!"
Gwen didn't hesitate. She dove to the side and looked up. A gargantuan shadow had blotted out the sun.
It was a steamroller.
A super-heavy industrial steamroller, weighing over 20 tons, was hurtling down from the sky. Peter was positioned directly behind the massive machine, his Nanoscale Liquid Metal Battle Suit shifting into high-velocity mode. The armor on his feet had transformed into oversized rocket thrusters, glowing with a fierce, over-frequency blue light.
Under the combined force of gravity and Peter's thrusters, the steamroller tore through the atmosphere, creating visible turbulent air currents that shrieked with a heart-wrenching whoosh.
"Karn! Take this! My HEAVENLY JUSTICE!"
Peter triggered a final, over-frequency burst. The steamroller slammed into Karn at the exact coordinate deep blue had calculated for his movement path.
RUMBLE!
The entirety of Fifth Avenue buckled. The impact created a shockwave equivalent to a small meteorite strike. Hundreds of cracks spider-webbed across the street as the ground sank nearly five meters deep.
When the dust finally settled, a massive crater sat where the road had been, effectively cutting Fifth Avenue in half. The concrete cylinder of the steamroller was pulverized, buried under a mound of gravel and shattered street at the bottom of the pit.
Gwen and Harry landed at the edge of the smoking crater, staring into the depths.
"Such a terrifying attack..." Harry whispered. "That has to be the end of him, right?"
