Once the fire elementals decided their next course of action, they immediately got to work. However, they quickly found out that trees required months to fully mature (magical trees, magical growth), and if a lot of trees were grown together, the they would be weaker (nutrients), so their plans to literally grow houses ended before it could even start.
But if they couldn't even get their houses made, then how would they take revenge?
Hence, now if Azu were to come by and visit. How would be shocked to see them sitting around saplings, trying to use the feir that they naturally generate to accelerate the growth of trees.
Alas, they kept failing repeatedly, for their violent Feir couldn't coexist with the Gentle Nuir (nature element). They would fight each other in the sapling, sometimes Feir would win, buring the sapling to ash or sometimes Nuir would win, at the cost of great energy causing the sapling to weaken.
No matter what happened, they couldn't accelerate the growth of trees, leading to widespread confusion and frustration.
This continued till dusk, when a miracle happened. A sapling suddenly started going like crazy. In the astonished eyes of the fire elementals, it grew ten metres, twenty metres, thirty metres, fifty metres.....
Finally, it stopped growing at the height of onw hundred metres, with the diameters of fifty metres. The tree stood above, like a mountain, like a divine miracle.
The astonished fire elementals slowly turned their heads towards the fire elemental who was responsible for it.
"...."
"Brothers i did it!!", the fire elemental named Vintage cheered loudly and proudly.
"Hoooooo", the fire elementals cheered back, from now on, Vintage meant Growth and a new beginning.
Although it was not how they wanted it to be, they decided to hollow out the tree and create rooms, indirectly giving birth to the world's first castle.
After everything was done, they excitedly gathered around Vintage, wanting to know how he managed to do the feat that no one could do.
"Well brothers its a bit hard to explain", Vintage was a man of lean build, taller yet thinn, only for a fire elemental though. He had never recieved such attention, making him a bit embarrassed and nervous. However, the will of Zeroth (blood of Zeroth) flowing in him made him naturally arrogant just like any other fire elemental so this much was something that he could take.
"Stop dragging the words around, Vintage, we are all drooling to hear your discovery", the elder Kel encouraged him.
"Thank you elder", replied Vintage, grateful for his concern. After all, fire elementals were not heartless, just a little arrogant.
"The reason for our new home is, what I believe to be perspective and comprehension." Vintage organised his words before continuing, "We have all believed Feir to be violent and destructive, primarily due to our sacred land having continuous eruptions."
Hearing this, the fire elementals nodded. With their sacred land having eruptions at complete random, it was hard to not believe that Feir was destructive and violent.
"Well, we were wrong", Vintage said calmly, causing fire elementals to frown for they could not understand why they were wrong.
Vintage looked at their expressions and kept lecturing,"when we were making our journey here, we had the fortune to witness various things that were knot present in our sacred land, like trees, water, rain, lightning etc."
"What are your trying to say, Vintage?" Elder Kel asked.
"Well, during our journey, i noticed that when lightning struck and burnt down a tree, the blades of grass would grow quickly over it. At this I was naturally confused, after all how could something destructive cause growth which is clearly related to creation?"
The fire elementals fell into confusion hearing this. Indeed, what should something destructive cause growth and creation.
"But after some thought, I realised that each element has two aspects, one for creation and one for destruction. They both are present in it, fueling each other. When I applied this thinking to wanting to grow the tree, my Feir acted as food (power source) to Nuir, allowing the tree to grow quickly."
The fire elementals nodded hearing it, marvelling at the nature of elements and praising Vintage for his observation.
"Vintage, I have a question." Elder Kel asked,"When we tried to grow the tree, we also wanted the aspect of creation, then why did is manifest as destruction instead?"
"My elder," Vintage replied, "Bluntly, I am not clear about this. I believe that the reason is comprehension. Perhaps the reason is that while others tried to make the tree grow, they ultimately believed Feir to be destructive, causing the destructive aspect to manifest while i believed that Feir could also posses a creation side, hence causing its creative aspect to manifest. But Bluntly, I am not clear about the principles.", Vintage replied honestly.
Elder Kel nodded, thanking Vintage goe his contribution while pondering if this could be useful against their delusional kin. After all, anything can fade, but the vengeance in a fire elemental's heart cannot.
