The Aeldari were once the undisputed overlords of the galaxy, enjoying a long and glorious history.
They inherited many legacies left by the Old Ones, and the Webway was one of them.
During the heyday of the Spirit Race Empire, Aeldari artisans built magnificent cities at various nodes of the Webway using crystal and wraithbone materials.
After the Great Fall, the intricate Webway was torn apart, and many grand Webway cities were abandoned, with Twilight City being one of them.
Here, there was neither dawn nor dusk, and no sunlight.
The only light source came from the golden twilight emanating from the magnificent crystal high tower in the center of the city.
The twilight enveloped the lonely streets and dilapidated high towers.
For a long time, Twilight City had been as silent as a tomb.
But today, this peace was broken.
With the support of the Death Guard, Cawl and his group repelled the pursuers sent by Abaddon at Karasus Frostmoon, entered the Webway, and embarked on a journey to Macragge.
However, how could Abaddon give up so easily?
He persuaded several Chaos warlords, having Chaos sorcerers lead them into the Webway to continue hunting down Cawl and the others.
Cawl and his group retreated all the way, but were eventually caught up by the Chaos warlords and demons.
Out of necessity, they could only engage the enemy in Twilight City.
However, the enemy's forces were several times their own, and soon they were in a precarious situation.
Crimson blood splattered on the lonely streets.
Numerous corpses lay in the ruins, and shattered vehicles spewed black smoke.
Many wounded and dying struggled in pools of blood, seeking safety.
Alex, standing on the Bridge of the Imperial Glory, witnessed all of this.
"Cortana, initiate bombardment immediately, cutting off the enemy's subsequent forces."
"Understood, Master. Cortana will immediately carry out your command."
Alex reached out and summoned a holographic interface, beginning to edit the mission.
"Mission: Rescue Allied Forces
Fabricator General Belisarius Cawl and others are being pursued by Chaos enemies, deeply imperiled, and urgently need assistance.
Minimum mission reward: 50,000 Contribution Points, 200 Honor Points, increase in allied unit favorability.
Commission reward: Evaluated based on war score, different Contribution Point rewards can be obtained.
Hint 1: Belisarius Cawl is key to the Primarch Revival series of missions; once he dies, related missions will be cleared.
Hint 2: Protecting important units can increase favorability, with a chance to obtain exclusive missions and Relic rewards in the future.
Hint 3: The Aeldari are currently in a friendly state; attacking Aeldari units will incur punishment."
Seeing the mission update, the Players, who had been cooped up in the warship to the point of questioning life, immediately cheered excitedly.
"Oh my God, it's finally war."
"Those who offend the Imperium, no matter how far, shall be punished."
"For the Emperor, Loyalty!"
"Let's go on a killing spree, a killing spree."
"Charge, charge, for Cawl, for the Imperium."
"Brothers, the time to test our loyalty has come."
"For the Emperor, for Morgana."
"..."
The way the God Chosen cheered and howled at the mention of battle made Xia, the fleet commander, widen his eyes.
"Shocking, isn't it?" Aying said from the side, "They get more excited than Ork boys when they hear about a battle."
"Truly loyal to the extreme," Xia muttered to himself, "It makes me feel ashamed."
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Under Cortana's precise control, the Imperial Glory unleashed a volley of gunfire upon the enemy.
Dense beams of light and shells fell, creating a continuous chain of explosions.
The Aeldari city was completely reduced to ruins.
The magnificent crystal high towers and wraithbone buildings collapsed, engulfed in a sea of fire.
Countless demons and Chaos minions were blown to smithereens amidst their wails.
The sudden arrival of reinforcements filled the Imperial soldiers and Aeldari with joy.
"Attack! Let the enemy's blood be spilled dry here."
Alex gave the order, and the Players and Astartes Legion were thrown into the battlefield.
Deafening horn blasts sounded.
The Hammer and Sickle Battle Group were the first to open fire on the enemy.
They piloted enhanced Zagu 01 Type mechs, over twenty meters tall, unleashing a torrent of firepower upon the enemy.
Giant autocannons and laser heavy cannons roared continuously, and terrifying explosions shook the dilapidated buildings.
"In the name of the omnissiah, let everything turn to ash!"
Little Fatty shouted excitedly.
His other companions responded by operating their mechs, issuing war cries.
Surrounding the enhanced Zagu 01 Type mechs were Astartes Legion soldiers clad in Tomorrow Series exoskeletons.
Their heavy machine guns and lasers on their shoulders fired incessantly, continuously suppressing the enemy.
Chainsaw swords or circular saws, used for close combat, roared.
Any enemy that dared to approach was torn to shreds.
Next came the Emperor Niuma Battle Group.
Their armor styles varied, with all sorts of bizarre spray paint patterns.
A few of them even had battle standards stuck to their backs.
The banners bore images of Primarchs, the Emperor, or the double-headed eagle.
They charged towards the enemy, shouting various strange slogans, firing boltguns and hacking at every enemy they saw with chainswords.
Following them were two thousand Astartes recruits.
They had no Warband designation.
To facilitate command, Alex divided them into the First Regiment and the Second Regiment.
Although these Astartes were recruits, they had undergone rigorous training before their surgical modifications.
They did not lack basic combat knowledge, they just didn't know how to fight like an Astartes.
They suppressed the enemy with boltguns, flamers, and plasma guns.
Alex also joined the battlefield.
He flapped his wings, flew out of the Imperial Glory, and soared above the battlefield.
He seized an opportunity, descending from high altitude like a meteor, and the immense impact made the ground boom.
Cracks appeared in the sturdy wraithbone ground, and all the demons and Chaos minions near the landing point were sent flying.
"Sanguinius?"
A Chaos Warrior shouted in terror.
"Congratulations, you guessed wrong."
Alex extended a hand and used the skill [Brain Burst].
A hazy light enveloped the unlucky fellow's head, and then, like a watermelon, it exploded with a bang.
Alex's appearance filled both warring factions with astonishment.
"It's the Angel born from light!"
Eldrad Ulthran's face was shocked.
He was the Great Seer of the Usvej Ark World, the most far-sighted among the Aeldari.
He possessed incredible precognitive abilities, saving the lives of thousands of Aeldari.
He witnessed the Great Fall of the Spirit Race Empire.
He had joined a secret Cult, stirring up the situation across the galaxy.
He had warned Fulgrim, attempting to prevent the Horus Heresy.
He had also appeared in the Beast War.
His presence was behind many major events in the galaxy.
When Alex received the blessing, Eldrad Ulthran noticed this existence beyond fate.
He could clearly see that the power of the Human Emperor resided within him.
The scorching flames of destruction burned away all the threads of fate leading to him.
The fate of this Emperor's Angel could not be observed, nor could it be manipulated.
Celestine's pupils suddenly contracted—this unfamiliar warrior actually possessed pure white wings like her.
The thought that he might be a Chaos minion or a conspiracy flashed through her mind.
But this thought appeared for only a moment before she suppressed it.
The surging Imperial might emanating from him left no possibility of falsehood.
"Who are they?"
Greyfax watched as several God Chosen passed her, cheering "Long live the Emperor," and bouncing towards the enemy.
Amaric, Marshal of the Black Templars, also looked bewildered.
As a seasoned veteran of countless battles, he could tell at a glance that these Astartes were rookies.
Those in various attires, joyful like Ork boys, had some combat experience, but not much.
As for the uniformly dressed ones, their tactics and movements revealed a kind of immaturity.
"They are supporting us, at least, they are loyal to the God-Emperor," Celestine said, effectively acknowledging Alex's identity.
"Kill these Heretics who betrayed the Emperor!"
Sard, the Dreadnought of the Star Realm Knight Corps, stepped onto the battlefield.
A roar emanated from the mech's loudspeakers, carrying eternal fury.
The heavy bolter roared, and enemies struck by it instantly exploded into fragments.
Losa, as the First Captain, needed to remain on Planet Atoma to prevent unrest.
Alex brought Sard and a few Star Realm Knights with him.
He had them teach the recruits and provide him with battlefield advice.
"Star Realm Knights?" Amaric recognized the Warband insignia on Sard's armor.
Sard, immersed in the slaughter, only then noticed that his allies next to him were Black Templars.
"Praise Dorn, to see a distant brother here!"
Sard's voice, coming through the Dreadnought's loudspeakers, was somewhat noisy and distorted.
The Black Templars were founded during the Second Founding.
Like the Star Realm Knights, they were a successor Battle Group of the Imperial Fists.
Their first Chapter Master was Sigismund, Rogal Dorn's most beloved son and the Emperor's first champion.
"What exactly is going on here? Are those Astartes Star Realm Knight recruits?" Amaric asked.
"No, they are the God-Emperor's warriors," Sard said, "Now is not the time to delve into the truth. Let's repel the enemy first, and then I'll explain in detail."
