Chapter 76 - Chapter 76 : Lucius, You're a Coward

Hearing Sard's words, Amaric no longer questioned.

The loyal Dreadnought veteran and Celestine had both vouched for each other.

Then he should also trust the other party.

Any problems should wait until after the battle to be slowly clarified.

"No pity! No remorse! No fear!"

Amaric shouted the Warband's battle cry.

Many Black Templars battle brothers charged with him, killing their way towards the enemy.

"Praise the Emperor, all glory belongs to Him."

Celestine's face showed joy, as she prayed and fought.

The Emperor's gaze had always been upon them.

Seeing them in grave danger, He even sent His spokesperson.

The Battle Sisters chanted holy prayers and charged with her towards the enemy.

"Cadia stands! Cadia's glory endures!"

A mortal officer shouted.

His eyes were purple, a true Cadian.

After Cadia Fortress fell, they retreated with the Fabricator General, fighting bloody battles all the way, suffering countless casualties.

But they still maintained high morale, filled with the terrible rage of their destroyed homeland, fighting the enemy.

Following the officer's shout, the Cadians rushed out of their cover, forming tactical formations, and firing at the enemy.

They coordinated with the Astartes Legion, advancing with the help of tanks.

The Kasrkin tanks rumbled on the battlefield, their heavy treads crushing debris and corpses along the way, continuously shelling the Daemon Engines.

The Cadians looked at the Astartes Legion soldiers with some envy.

Every Astartes Legion soldier was armed to the teeth.

They wore exoskeleton armor, with automatic machine guns and laser emitters on their backs and shoulders.

Their firepower was incredibly fierce, and they were also equipped with close-combat weapons.

Some heavy exoskeletons responsible for assaults were even equipped with deflector shields, offering astonishing defense.

Meanwhile, they were only equipped with standard flak armor and laser rifles.

Alex held the Holy Judgement Blade, slaughtering Chaos spawn and Daemons, while simultaneously using skills like [Prayer], [Blessing], and [Roar] to boost the morale of his allies.

After he cleaved another Chaos Warrior in half, Skarbrand fixated on him.

"This is an excellent skull. If I can offer it to the Blood God, He might forgive my past mistakes and allow me to return to His realm."

Skarbrand let out a deafening roar.

He ran towards Alex's location, shaking the ground.

Daemons in his path were either trampled, screamed and fled, or died on the spot.

The Khorne Greater Daemon's power was beyond imagination.

Skarbrand held a heavy battle-axe burning with flames, coming with a world-destroying posture.

Along the way, two Leman Russ Tanks attempted to stop the Khorne Greater Daemon,

but they were cleaved into pieces by his battle-axe and burned fiercely on the spot.

Alex watched him, casting a blessing skill on himself.

Then, he flapped his wings and shot towards him like an arrow.

Clang!

The Holy Judgement Blade and the flaming battle-axe collided, producing a deafening echo.

Alex's hand throbbed and tingled, feeling a dull ache.

It felt like colliding with a battleship flying at full speed, and he almost lost his balance.

But with the Emperor's blessing, Alex managed to stabilize himself.

At this moment, Thousand Faces, the chosen champion of the Aeldari Death Guard, seized the opportunity to attack Skarbrand with the Silent Shroud Sword.

The Silent Shroud Sword is one of the five Crone Swords needed to awaken the Death God.

Legend has it that it was forged from the severed finger of the Aeldari Crone God who governs fate and souls,

and it can grant its wielder the ability to control life and death.

The Death Guard firmly believe that by collecting all five Crone Swords, they can awaken the Aeldari Death God and defeat Slaanesh.

So far, the Death Guard has collected four.

The last Crone Sword is hidden in Slaanesh's realm.

As long as Slaanesh is defeated, the last Crone Sword can be obtained.

Once all five Crone Swords are gathered, they can awaken the Death God and defeat Slaanesh.

Thousand Faces' movements were like a phantom, incredibly fast, moving around Alex and Skarbrand.

The sword in his hand inflicted shocking wounds on the Khorne Greater Daemon's body.

Skarbrand swung his battle-axe, intending to kill Thousand Faces, but repeatedly missed,

so he vented his full fury on Alex.

He became increasingly irritable, his attacks grew stronger, and the force behind his battle-axe became more powerful.

Sword and axe clashed, with incessant clanging sounds.

Alex consumed Faith Points to exchange for the Emperor's mighty power, engaging Skarbrand head-on.

These Faith Points partly came from quests, partly as rewards for improving the lives of the populace, and partly from the populace's spontaneous faith in him.

Skarbrand's threat was the greatest.

Once Alex engaged him, the pressure on the battlefield suddenly decreased significantly.

Coupled with the fierce firepower of the reinforcements, Celestine and the others began their counterattack.

"Kill Cawl first."

Not all in the Chaos army were fools.

They clearly understood that the key to this battle was the Fabricator General and the item in his hand.

The sudden arrival of reinforcements shattered their plan to annihilate the Emperor's minions and the Aeldari remnants.

So they could only settle for a secondary objective.

Lucius the Eternal's movements were like a phantom, weaving through the battlefield.

He used an ornate rapier, easily piercing through several Astartes recruits of the First Warband.

"Truly pathetic."

Lucius pulled out his sword, looking disdainfully at his slowly falling opponent.

He set his next target as Belisarius Cawl.

This Adeptus Mechanicus was the key to everything.

If he was killed, the Imperium and the Emperor would be completely hopeless.

Two large, muscular Skitarii, heavily implanted with metal prosthetics, attempted to block Lucius.

But Lucius was too fast; even the Skitarii with sensory modules couldn't keep up, and he cleaved them in half with the rapier in his hand.

"In the name of the omnissiah, run!"

Seeing Lucius charging towards him, Cawl's voice held a hint of panic.

"Still trying to run?"

Lucius grinned, licking the blade with his forked tongue.

He was already impatient to savor his target's fear before death.

"Hey, ugly, dare to fight me?"

The Warmaster shouted at Lucius after killing a Chaos spawn.

Cawl was crucial to the quest; his death would be a huge loss for the players.

Lucius gave him a cold glance, his movements not stopping at all, still heading directly for Belisarius Cawl.

"Tavitz was much braver than you, Lucius, you're just a piece of trash."

These words made Lucius stop, turning to look at the Warmaster.

His terrifying face twitched slightly, his gaze malicious, revealing a tyrannical killing intent.

The Warmaster added another line.

"No wonder Eidolon preferred to win over Tavitz back then, instead of actively trying to win you over, because you're simply not up to par."

Tenjiro, standing nearby, turned to look at the Warmaster, taking a sharp breath.

How could a person be so bold!!

Tavitz was an officer of the Emperor's Children during the Great Crusade.

He embodied all the good and noble qualities that the Third Legion should have possessed.

He earned the love and respect of many, not just within the Third Legion; other legions also held him in high regard.

Tavitz never cared for false fame,

his only desire was to win true glory for his Primarch Fulgrim and the Emperor of Mankind.

Eidolon was the Lord Commander of the Emperor's Children Legion during the Great Crusade.

After coming out of the Davin Temple, Horus planned to betray the Emperor,

choosing to purge the loyalists of four legions—Luna Wolves, World Eaters, Emperor's Children, and Death Guard—on Istvaan III.

Eidolon tried to win over Tavitz, asking him to implant the rapier organs and become a Noise Marine, but Tavitz refused.

During the drop on Istvaan III to suppress the ground rebels,

Tavitz noticed something was amiss with the troop arrangements, so he gave up the glory of being in the spearhead unit and stayed on the ship.

Later, he discovered that Horus intended to deploy virus bombs on the ground.

Realizing the situation was wrong, Tavitz immediately went to the surface to warn the loyalists and organize the Emperor's Children loyalists to counterattack.

The funny thing is, Lucius was abandoned.

It was Tavitz's warning that saved his life.

Yet, he was the only one among the many Emperor's Children dropped to the ground who betrayed.

He chose to surrender to Eidolon, leading the rebels to slaughter the wounded.

He dueled Tavitz, arrogant and boastful, but ended up being beaten by Tavitz.

If he hadn't run fast, he would have been killed by Tavitz.

Lucius stuck out his long tongue, sneering.

"Do you know what price you'll pay for humiliating me?"

"Sorry, I never humiliate cowards, because they're not worthy."

The Warmaster gripped the sword in his hand.

Because Lucius had already charged towards him.
