"Sigh~... Let's do this," Akira took a deep breath as he prepared to walk into the dark alley where groans and moans of pain were continuously coming out in batches, along wiht the sobbing of a girl.
Entering the dark and damp alley, the first thing Akira saw was a girl about a year older than him, judging from her bone density, crying as she sat against the alley wall, hugging her knees as she buried her head between her legs.
"I-Im sorry, I'm sorry, forgive me, I didn't mean to,"
The crying girl was muttering to herself nonstop with guilt, slightly moving back and forth, trying to convince herself that it was her fault for what happened to those students.
The smell of iron and blood was thick in front of the girl, wafting off with the cold breeze and slamming into Akira's unmoved face.
"Wow... She did all that? Kind of badass... Nah, I can sense another presence next to her," Akira looked at the four male students writhing in agony on the ground, every single one of their limbs broken, bones piercing out from their skin, and blood pooling under them.
But what Akira was mostly focused on was the slight sense of threat around the crying girl. It was not overwhelming, but it was only slightly less threatening than the women he met when he was 10 years old.
"Hey, you okay?- wait, scratch that question," Akira asked, only to feel a cracking behind him at his stupid question, his face turning awkward. It was pretty obvious that the girl was not okay since she was crying her eyes out.
But give him some slack, he hadn't talked to any other female besides Nobara for two years. Akira had almost forgotten how to talk and handle those complex creatures called females.
He didn't bother with the females in school.
It's due to the simple fact that they are all double-faced and are nothing special. Their bodies might be special, as in hot, but what Akira want is not their bodies, but how they behave.
After all, if he ended up with a girl like his mother... Akira shivered at the thought in disgust.
He loved his mother, really, even if he denied it, but he knew she was a whore who got knocked up at 16; he didn't wanna end up with a woman like that.
So he kept to himself, only talking to Nobara through phone calls.
"Huh?" Yuka froze, her tears still running as a deep but soothing voice called out to hr. The first feeling she got wasn't warmth, but panic and fear in her chest.
This happened before, and it always ends the same way. The person who tried to help was also hit by an enraged Rika. Their bones are breaking and needing immediate help.
"I-If you don't wanna get hurt and end up like these four, you need to run now!" Yuka shouted in panic, already feeling Rika get agitated at Akira's presence, but strangely, this time it felt slightly different.
It's as if Rika were sizing the new student up and hesitating.
"Haaa? Me? Run?" Akira pointed at his face with a questioning tone, his lips cracking into the slightest of grins as he tried not to chuckle at the girl's words.
He couldn't remember the last time he even got a bruise. If Akira is being honest, slight arrogance was in his bones, especially since he had never bled before.
It would be an experience if he actually bled for once.
"Yes! You need to run, or she will hurt you!" Yuka replied, more insistent this time as she stood up stumblingly, her clothes ruffled and her skirt slightly damp from the wet ground.
Yuka hurried towards Akira, trying to shield him before Rika managed to get her hands on him. She didn't want more blood and murder on her hands than there already is.
But it was too late!
"LEAVE YUKA ALONE!"
Boom!
Akira shifted his stance as he felt the rush of air; his body instantly went lax as if it were made out of melted wax. His eyes dulled, and he dropped, his knees bending inwards from the way he dropped.
"Rika, stop!"
Yuka's helpless shout went unheard as Rika's fist, the size of a sandbag, went towards Akira's body with the power to instantly pulverise a building, breaking the air itself.
Suddenly, Akira's body tensed, every single muscle used for explosive movement tensing up at the same exact time.
Boom!
Mach movement!
A technique Akira had created by utilising his extreme body control. By relaxing every single muscle in his body, Akira can tense those relaxed muscles, increasing his speed to double for an instant.
A sonic boom erupted from Akira, his body barely dodging the invisible attack. His body shot out of the way, cracking the ground from the shockwave.
In the middle of his movement, Akira's right leg tensed up for an attack, his body moving on instinct.
Boom!
A massive concentration of aqir shot into the roof of the alley, blowing it clean off as Akira's leg went through Rika's body as if made from air, leaving Akira frustrated.
"W-What?!" Yuka watched this all while shocked, her eyes wide as her hair framed her face, blown wild from the shockwave of the kick. She had never seen such a thing in her life.
But the shock quickly faded, replaced by determination as she looked at Rika, preparing another punch.
"Rika, stop, or I'll kill myself!"
Boom!
Rika's fist stopped an inch from Akira's face, creating a crack in the alley walls due to the pressure of his punch. Rika let out an enraged scream before dissolving into black smoke.
Thud!
"Whoa! Boy, that voice was very scary, wasn't it?" Akira slumped onto the ground with sweat on his temples, his fingers digging into the ground with force.
He still couldn't hit those beings...
But he was close to finding a way to do so, and Akira could feel it in his soul. He needs some more time, and he will definitely be able to hit those creatures.
He needs to see beyond the physical and see into the supernatural, to see souls.
"A-Are you okay?! Please tell me you aren't hurt anywhere! Oh god, it's my fault this happened..." Yuka rushed forward, crouching down next to Akira with worry, self-blame and guilt on her pretty face marred with sweat and thick locks of hair sticking to her face.
Akira looked at Yuka and her genuine worry for him, and deep inside his chest, a sudden thump rang out.
This was the third time someone genuinely showed him even a bit of worry. He hadn't been getting that ever since he moved, especially wiht Nobara only talking to him by phone.
"Y-Yeah, I'm good, just slightly tired... You could receive my forgiveness by buying me some food." Akira's shy face instantly vanished, replaced wiht cold aloofness as he stood up, swatting the dust from his ass in the process.
"B-Buy you food?... O-Okay, it's the least I could do," Yuka nodded timidly, a slight blush covering her cheeks at Akira's request.
"But before that, can I ask you for your name?" Yuka asked timidly.
