Late at night, the house was quiet, wrapped in a peaceful stillness. Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Lauren were getting ready for bed after a long day. Their bedroom was spacious and elegantly decorated in warm tones. The light from the bedside lamp cast a soft glow, creating just enough brightness for them to talk before falling asleep.
Mrs. Lauren leaned back against the pillows, while Mr. Thomas sat beside her, flipping through a few pages of the book he had not yet finished. Mrs. Lauren's gaze was gentle, but there was a trace of worry in it. She turned to her husband and asked softly, "You seem more thoughtful than usual today. Is something bothering you?"
Mr. Thomas paused, closed the book, and placed it on the table. "Nothing serious, Lauren. Just a few matters at the company. But you know, we've overcome far greater challenges than this."
Mrs. Lauren smiled faintly, though her eyes could not hide her concern. "You always make me worry."
