Anna drove at high speed, the headlights of her car illuminating the road ahead in the silent night. Her mind was filled with anger and hurt, but with every passing second, the tiny hope inside her that Ricard would chase after her still smoldered. She looked into the rearview mirror, hoping to see his headlights appear behind her, hoping Ricard would regret it and come after her, take her hand, and apologize.
But the road behind her remained empty. There was nothing but darkness and the faint glow of streetlights. Disappointment and pain began to seep into every corner of her heart. The passing seconds gradually became meaningless when no car appeared, when there was no sign from Ricard at all.
