Although Emma's heart was still filled with countless questions about Anna and Panny's appearance, she knew she could do nothing at the moment. Her curiosity and worry made her heart feel as if it were being squeezed tight, but Emma understood that if she continued sinking deeper into suspicion, it would only make the situation worse. She had to stay calm, at least until she had enough information to act. Emma's eyes kept drifting toward the building where she had seen Anna, but in the end, she had to remind herself that this was not the time to rush in without a plan.
"Let's go back," she said to Jackson, trying to keep her voice calm, even though her heart was still full of confusion. Jackson, always perceptive, only nodded slightly and did not push her to explain further. He understood that Emma needed time to sort through her thoughts, and sometimes silence was the best way to support her.
