When Jackson's car stopped in front of Emma's gate, she leaned back in her seat and let out a relieved sigh. Her mind was still circling around the thoughts from earlier.
As soon as she stepped out of the car, Emma saw Alex, her private harp instructor, standing and waiting by the gate. Alex was tall and elegant, carrying a small harp case in his hand.
Alex smiled in greeting when he saw Emma and Jackson approach. Jackson frowned slightly, looking the man in front of him up and down.
Jackson's scrutinizing gaze made Alex feel a little awkward. Jackson really did not need to act like that. Emma knew Jackson was only worried about her, but this slight jealousy was clearly making everything uncomfortable. She wanted to quickly remove him from the situation before things became awkward.
"Jackson," she said, her voice gentle but firm, "you should go home and rest. I still have my harp lesson with Alex."
