The next day after his transmigration, Ashven lay on his bed and considered his next line of action, from his experience of reading fantasy novels, he had already deduced what happened to the crown prince. Sighing he thought back to the transmigration novels he had read, and began to plot his own life and predict what will happen to him.
... right about this moment a beautiful young maid is supposed to be bringing in warm water to come and wipe his forehead; he and the maid were supposed to be close and she would be the only person to truly understand him in the palace, also as she was wiping his face he is supposed to wake up and catch her arms in his hands and an...
To Ashven's surprise the door creaked open and the person behind it moved softly towards the bed, because his eyes were closed, he could not see the person, but he could hear water sloshing around as though the person was carrying a basin of water.
.. wait, don't tell me my fantasies are about to come to pass ahhh ...
Ashven waited with bated breath as the footsteps neared the bed. The owner of the footsteps stopped close to the head of the bed dropped what sounded like a basin of water on the floor and then sighed. The person seemingly dipped a towel into the basin and squeezed it, Ashven felt the cool drip of the water rolling down his face and almost could not contain himself again, reining in his wild emotions and imaginations, he slowly opened his eyes and grabbed the hand that was holding the towel and...
... and that was when he knew he messed up ...
The hand he was holding was not in anyway feminine, in fact he could feel the scars running through the hairy hand, and talking about hair, why the heck was this hand so friggin damp?
Ashven smacked the hands away in disgust and plopped back on the bed. From the side a shocked voice, laced with hurt, stuttered...,
" you... Your Highness, you are alive, I mean you are awake. "
" Get out!! "
Ashven was barely holding himself back, he closed his eyes and tried to rid himself of the image of the damp hairy hand in relation to the maid of his fantasies. Alas! that was easier said than done.
Wait was that beast still standing by his bed, opening his eyes again, he saw the young man still looking at his lord with expressions of befuddlement and hurt. Somehow that ended up infuriatuing him more, and so, twisting his face in a savage manner, he managed to get off the bed, carry the water bowl, and swing it at the young man with all his might, it was at this moment that the young man decided that his master was indeed serious and wanted him gone, and besides didn't he need to report to the Royal physicians that the crown prince was awake, with those thoughts, he turned and ran away from the raging crown prince.
Ashven sat down at the edge of the bed and slowly drew in a deep breath, damn that was close, he shuddered at the memory of what just happened and glanced in the direction that the young man took.
Of course he knew the young man, his name was Aric Noct, he belonged to a rather mysterious family of the kingdom and their main duty that has been ingrained in their body since birth was to serve and protect the royal family, The family was simply known to the whole world as The Sanctum, even though they were addressed to as a family, they were mostly not, members of the family were in fact not allowed to engage in romantic episodes so as not to distract them from their duties to the crown. It was rumored that the first king of Asterion, after whom the kingdom was named, had several friends who were as powerful as he was. Their friendship was so tight that what they had going on could not be called friendship but brotherhood, and the person that was accepted as the elder brother of the brotherhood was none other that Asterion. so when he decided to settle down and establish his kingdom, his friends had stayed with him and built their families in his kingdom. The house that Aric belonged to was founded by the youngest of the friends, he was rescued by Asterion from certain death and so decided to rescue other children who would make protecting the blood line of Asterion their life goal.
At this moment however, he heard the sounds of several hurried footsteps and hushed whispers outside his door, he was expecting them to come in when he heard the voice of a eunuch announcing the arrival of the Royal Physicians, the coals of anger that were already dying down in his heart suddenly started to burn more furiously.
... so I had someone who would announce the entry of guests, and yet he allowed that perverted guard of mine to enter without announcing, hmph, let this young master finish deceiving those old fogeys from the Royal infirmary then I will have your time ...
At the same time in the yard Aric was practicing his sword techniques when all of a sudden he shuddered and faltered in the process falling down and almost twisting his arms, touching the back of his neck, he glanced around furtively and sighed rising to his feet.
... someone definitely cursed me right now, ah who did I offend, my luck today has not been good ...
Glancing at his sword on the ground, he quickly picked it up and sheathed it lest anything bad happen to him again during practice, then left the training yard and went to lie on his bed, in his opinion no bad luck can affect him while sleeping.

Back in his room Ashven had already allowed the Royal Physicians to come inside, while glaring at the eunuch that opened the door, this group of physicians was not led by the head of the Royal Infirmary, instead it was lead by the current patriarch of the House of light, this house focused on healing and medicine, in fact the girl that had the highest aptitude in the test was his daughter Fiona Rothswoth and he was Asus Rothswoth.
From the moment he stepped into the room Ashven started feeling light headed, not in a bad way but a positive manner, he felt his body loosening and his mind became clearer, as Ashven stopped himself from moaning in comfort he searched his memories for information about this man, but he wasn't given the time to peruse them, as the man rushed forward and held him in his hands with a weird and creepy expression on his face.
" Ah your highness, I wasn't expecting you to be awake so soon"
Ashven rolled his eyes and just smiled at the man, then a thought came to him, the memories of the crown prince were more or less available to him, except for the moment after giving the speech, everything after the speech was blank and he couldn't even remember how the crown prince had died, and most importanly the doctor's words were not lost on him, he had said that he did not expect him to wake up so soon not that he did not expect him to wake up at all. What had happened to the crown prince after his death, was he even dead or was he residing somewhere inside his soul. Ashven shifted uncomfortably at that last thought and looked at Asus, then he took in a deep breath and asked,
" what happened to me? No matter how hard I try I am not able to remember any details about my passing out, I only remember climbing up and giving a speech, so I would appreciate it if you can fill me in on the details of what happened."
Asus looked at the Crown Prince for a while, looked at the instrument that he had prepared to check his health, looked at the Crown Prince again and noticing the intense determination in his eyes nodded and sighed.
" Your Highness with all due respect, I am still surprised that you are alive today, what happened on the day of the test is very simple but also very deadly to unawakened like you. Apparently, after several diagnosis we discovered very trace amount of a substance called Heart Marrow, on its own it is nothing more than expensive stimulant, but when infused in right proportions into a victims body and then the said victim comes in contact with essence it will cause a reaction that will shut down the victims body and become traceless, rendering all observation methods useless"
looking at the Crown Prince who looked stunned and rightfully so he continued,
" Your Highness fell at the feet of my daughter, and since she had been trained rigorously from a young age, armed with her top tier aptitude and since the poison was meant for unawakened she was able to stabilise Your Highness till I arrived."
Ashven spared the proud and grinning father a disdainful look before contemplating on the information he just received, after going over it again and again in his mind and using the memories of the Crown Prince to complement his thinking, he came to a conclusion.
... I AM IN BIG TROUBLE ...
