Chapter 361: The Greatest Winner
Crack
Shatter
Kaguya, along with Black Zetsu on the ground, watched as Tonbo Tobitake and the surrounding space began to fracture like glass.
"Sensory Inversion."
Kaguya's vision flipped upside down. Her body felt as if it were burning at a searing temperature; her nostrils were filled with an odor so foul it would make an Otsutsuki vomit; chaotic, dissonant sounds roared in her ears; and her tongue tasted a cloying, sickly sweetness.
"Mass Reversal."
Suddenly, her body felt as though it were being crushed by a gravity many times heavier than the original Chibaku Tensei.
"Form Shift."
Her vision seemed to snap back to normal for an instant. In the distance, the two boys wielding Hagoromo's power were closing in on her with blinding speed.
Kaguya's Byakugan bulged in fury. A unique surge of chakra formed in her brain, and all the previous sensory distortions vanished instantly. But what she saw next plunged her into despair.
"Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei!"
One hand from each boy slammed onto her body simultaneously.
"No... Hagoromo..."
Kaguya wailed in unwilling defiance. The Truth-Seeker Orb behind her shattered bit by bit. Her body distorted as the nine Tailed Beasts were forcibly extracted from her form.
The body of Uchiha Madara was also ejected, falling toward the ground. The immense sealing force encased Kaguya, and the surrounding matter of the dimension was sucked into the core to form a new satellite.
"Sorry about that. I'm just trying to survive. I'll come visit you when I have time," Tonbo said, hands in his pockets. He walked over to Black Zetsu and kicked him toward the rising mass of the seal.
Swoosh—
"Dammit, Tonbo Tobitake! Mother and I will return!"
Thud, thud, thud—
A giant moon rose within the pocket dimension.
"It's over! Uncle Tonbo, you were amazing! What was that move? It was incredible!" Naruto's eyes sparkled as he looked at Tonbo, amazed at how "easily" Kaguya had been sealed.
Sasuke remained aloof, but his ears perked up; he clearly wanted intel on that technique. He knew that with the power of his Rinnegan, even his Genjutsu had been useless against Kaguya.
Sasuke's internal plans weren't finished yet; he still intended to seize absolute power to enforce world peace.
"It was nothing special. I'm just a tiny bit stronger than the average guy," Tonbo waved his hand dismissively. Really, I'm making people blush with all this praise.
Tch! Both boys looked at him with disdain. He was definitely milking the moment.
"By the way... how do we get out of here?"
The Battlefield.
The old man, Hagoromo, sensed the completion of the seal and used the Summoning Jutsu to call forth the spirits of the previous Kage.
"My power is fading; I must soon return to the Pure Land. Everyone, lend me your strength for the Summoning Jutsu to bring them back," Hagoromo said to the spirits.
"It seems the future shinobi world is still plagued by war."
"It seems strife did not cease after my death!"
"From the look of it, the younger generation is about to enter a new era."
The First Raikage: "Since the Sage of Six Paths has spoken..."
No one objected. They all formed hand seals, preparing to use their chakra to pull Naruto, Sasuke, and the nine Tailed Beasts back from Kaguya's dimension using the array Hagoromo had created.
Poof!
Just then, right next to the formation, a gateway rose from the ground. Startled, everyone turned to look.
Three figures walked out slowly. At the lead was a white-haired man with a smirk on his face.
"Hi there. Problem solved. Are you guys having a party?" Tonbo laughed.
Naruto and Sasuke followed, with the nine Tailed Beasts behind them. Kurama's tail was wrapped around Madara's body, which he threw heavily onto the ground.
"Hey! What do you mean 'problem solved'? Sasuke and I worked really hard!" Naruto pouted. He had almost died, yet Tonbo made it sound like a walk in the park.
Hagoromo froze, looking at Tonbo with genuine appreciation. "It seems my help wasn't needed after all."
Creak! The Clown's Gatekeeper closed and vanished into the air.
Hashirama laughed. "It seems there are many capable people among the younger generation!"
Tobirama looked at Tonbo intensely. "To break the Infinite Tsukuyomi in such a short time... your intellect is far from simple, kid."
Hagoromo: "Very well. Sasuke, Naruto—the cycle of hatred between my sons should end with this era. What you do next is up to you."
"Hmph. I am me, and Sasuke is Sasuke. We aren't your kids," Naruto said confidently.
"Indeed. But all's well that ends well," Hagoromo nodded.
Sasuke's eyes darted to Uchiha Madara. Seeing he wasn't dead yet, he prepared to finish him off. But Tonbo blocked his path.
"He's finished. Let him have a final word with his old friend."
Sasuke glanced at him, then watched as Hashirama walked toward Madara.
"Alright, you guys chat. I'm going to rest for a bit." Tonbo acted exhausted, leaning against one of the thick Divine Tree roots where countless ninjas were still hanging.
The Fourth War is over. The harvest is plentiful. I wonder how strong the future Otsutsuki will be? In terms of raw power, they shouldn't be stronger than Kaguya.
Using the research gathered from Urashiki and the neural data harvested from within Kaguya, he had found the precise "anchor points" to trigger a Genjutsu on her, buying that crucial half-second.
That was why his Genjutsu worked—it wasn't just the massive Natural Energy; it was the data. He didn't even have to use his "Forced Execution" cheat to relegate Kaguya to the history books. Her combat experience was even worse than Urashiki's; what a waste of a body containing infinite power.
I don't have much intel on the future beyond this point. I'll spend my time researching Ninjutsu and the Otsutsuki. I'll find the Kara organization and kill them on sight.
With the war over, his "meta-knowledge" was running dry. His knowledge of the Boruto era was limited. However, he wasn't worried—he had a new, superior experimental subject: Kaguya Otsutsuki.
He had the coordinates for Kaguya's Core Dimension saved in his mind. He had set them before the fight even started. By using his space-time abilities, he could return there to continuously harvest data. As long as they were in the same dimension, the neural threads he left on Kaguya would feed him data, even through the seal.
Step, step, step.
Naruto and Sasuke began walking toward the Final Valley.
"The greatest winner... is me. From now on, I can live however I want without worrying about Naruto and the others."
"Genjutsu: Historical Modification."
As Tonbo watched Sasuke and Naruto leave, and before they could release the Infinite Tsukuyomi, he placed his hand inconspicuously against the Divine Tree trunk.
Using the tree as a hub, his neural threads surged toward the people hanging from the branches. Underground, the threads spread from the tiny roots toward every person in the world. When he reached his limit, he siphoned the chakra flowing through the roots to push the threads even further.
Every person touched by the threads was subjected to "Historical Modification." He suppressed their memories of his Taijutsu and Ninjutsu prowess, replacing them with a reinforced impression that he was purely a "Genjutsu Specialist."
Since the roots of the Infinite Tsukuyomi were interconnected, everyone in the world was affected. He then severed the threads, leaving them dormant within their bodies—a hidden trump card to be activated if ever needed.
He didn't know what the Boruto era would bring, but a little extra insurance never hurt.
