Chapter 33 - Chapter 32 — The Spring and the Surgeon

Law watched Bellamy as the man forcefully compressed the springs in his legs. Muscles tensed, veins stood out, and the air itself seemed to vibrate from the pressure.

Then Bellamy released it.

Like an arrow, he shot forward.

The first pirate didn't even have time to blink. Bellamy crashed into him at terrifying speed, sending the man flying across the street. Laughter instantly died. The pirates who had been mocking him only seconds ago froze, panic spreading across their faces.

The captain narrowed his eyes. "A Devil Fruit user…" he muttered coldly.

"Spring Death Strike!" Bellamy shouted as he launched himself forward again.

He turned the battlefield into chaos. His movements were wild yet precise, bouncing from enemy to enemy like a living weapon. Within three minutes, every pirate except the captain lay unconscious on the ground, limbs twisted at unnatural angles.

The captain glanced at his fallen crew, then back at Bellamy. "You've got serious potential," he said. "Join my crew. I'll make you my right-hand man."

Law frowned.

I wanted to recruit him first…

What if he accepts?

Bellamy scoffed. "Join a bunch of losers like you?"

He grinned viciously. "I'll just beat you instead."

"Spring Punch!"

Bellamy charged straight at the captain—but the captain calmly caught his fist, as if stopping a child's punch. With brutal strength, he yanked Bellamy forward and slammed his fist into Bellamy's stomach.

Bellamy was sent flying, crashing into nearby buildings in a cloud of dust and debris.

Law's eyes widened.

He caught that hit…

That means he's either insanely strong… or also a Devil Fruit user.

The answer came immediately.

The captain's body began to grow. Bones cracked. Thick white fur burst through his skin. His teeth elongated into fangs, claws tearing from his fingers.

In moments, a massive white bear stood where the man had been.

The bear threw its head back and roared, shaking the entire street, then turned toward the ruins where Bellamy had landed.

Law stepped forward—but a hand stopped him.

"Let me fight him first," Lin said calmly.

Law shook his head. "You're still injured. That's a bad idea."

Lin met his gaze without hesitation. "In Kano, when I was young, my uncle trained me without mercy," he said quietly.

"Please… trust me."

Law exhaled, then nodded. "Fine. But if it gets dangerous, I step in."

Lin smiled and walked forward. "Hey, big stupid bear!" he shouted. "Come here—I'll show you your place!"

He took a firm stance and raised his right arm. "Hasshoken — Eight-Impact Fist!"

His punch slammed into the bear's abdomen with explosive force. The massive creature staggered backward several steps, nearly falling.

The captain snarled. "Who are you, brat?! Want me to kill you too?!"

He swung a massive paw, but Lin dodged effortlessly. Their battle erupted, fists and claws colliding.

Meanwhile, Law walked calmly toward the rubble where Bellamy was pushing himself up, clutching his stomach.

"You're Bellamy, right?" Law asked.

Bellamy looked up at the man in the spotted hat and long sword. "Yeah. If you wanna fight, wait your turn."

"I don't want to fight," Law replied.

"I want to invite you to join my pirate crew."

Bellamy blinked, stunned.

"We'll travel the seas," Law continued. "And turn this world upside down."

Bellamy stared at him like he was insane—then slowly smiled. "You're an idiot," he said. "But if you want me to join you… show me your strength."

Law smiled faintly and looked toward the bear captain. "Lin, step back. I'll handle this."

Lin retreated without a word.

Law drew Kikoku from its sheath and walked forward.

The captain snarled, shifting into a hybrid form—half man, half beast. He grabbed the massive axe on his back and charged.

"I'll kill you!"

Law raised his hand. "ROOM."

A vast blue sphere expanded around them.

With a single, effortless motion, Law sliced.

The captain was cut cleanly in two.

And not just him—the buildings within ROOM were severed as well, split apart as if made of paper.

Silence fell.

Bellamy and Lin stood frozen, unable to speak.

"W-What did you do to me?!" the captain screamed in pure terror.

Law didn't even look at him.

He turned to Bellamy. "Is that enough?"

Bellamy was silent for several seconds.

Then he laughed—and grinned wide. "Yeah," he said.

"I'm in, Captain."

Law nodded once—and knocked the screaming captain unconscious
