Chapter 10 Part 3 Jiabi's Counterattack and New Job

I was numb clearly, I was now entangled with Lin Jiabi, and possibly caught between her family and some mysterious enemy. My days would not be peaceful now.

Back at the resort, several police cars were parked out front, the seven-seater tow-trucked away. I got out first, then Lin Jiabi calmly exited, still nude, as a worried crowd rushed to meet us.
At the front, unusually present, was General Manager Chen himself. When he saw Lin Jiabi, he relaxed visibly.
"Miss Lin, you're finally back you had us so worried! Are you all right?"
Chen said, beaming, taking her hand.
His secretary draped her with a bathrobe, lest she stay naked not that she minded.
I smirked. The high-ups all knew who she was; if an ordinary guide had gone missing, Chen never would have shown.
Middle and lower-level staff, Liu included, were lost in confusion.
"Chen, I'm fine. I'm surprised by all this worry I hardly deserve it."
"It's nothing, Miss um you're in our resort, your safety is our top concern."
"I'm okay, nothing serious just a run-in with bad people. By the way, it was our front desk attendant, Chen Yayi, who saved me!" She waved me over.
All eyes turned my way. I froze, not expecting this twist, suddenly jittery.
"I was taken by three men to this car; luckily, Chen Yayi saw, chased them, they panicked, the cars crashed, and he rescued me. The three ran off."
I nearly laughed out loud. It was all holes in her story, but Manager Chen was overjoyed. His staff had saved the "Miss" a major point of pride and he hurried over, thanked me madly, praised me as an exemplary employee.
I feigned modesty, gushing about the company's training and public order.
A flurry of commotion followed. The police took our statements. Turns out, staff had seen Lin Jiabi being abducted, so the sirens just before the crash really had been called by the resort. I stuck to her script, said the men were guests; the police found all fake data except "Hong," nothing checked out.
The police frowned, but recorded everything. I caught Lin Jiabi's eye she was perfectly calm, obviously knowing the real story and who was behind it, but giving nothing away.
By the time it was over, dawn was breaking. Manager Chen declared I had the day off, and since the incident, Lin Jiabi's group was assigned a different guide.
On my way to rest, Manager Chen found me alone and whispered, "Yayi, you'll get 20,000 credits in your account don't say a word about last night! Miss Lin says this is finished!"
I perked up; it was nearly three months' pay. Miss Lin was truly generous.
"And," he added quietly, "Miss Lin just asked for you to be transferred to her side private assistant. Congratulations, Yayi; don't forget us when you make it big!"
I was stunned, mouth gaping: Me Lin Jiabi's private assistant?
