Amara's POV
After we left the nursing home, Theodore spent a long time parked outside Merida Academy, waiting to pick up his "Grandma" when school ended.
We headed straight to an upscale hotel afterward.
Ever since his encounter with Dominic, Theodore had been acting completely unhinged.
He couldn't stay seated, constantly pacing the hotel room while stealing glances at me as I worked on my sketches.
"This is insane... I have to get back to Cythera! I can't face him again!"
I glanced up, confused. "What exactly did he do?"
"He..." Theodore started to explode, then stopped short when he realized Dominic's behavior had been completely professional. There wasn't anything concrete to complain about.
"He handed me a check! Wants to hire me as his personal physician!"
I raised an eyebrow. "Sounds reasonable."
With Dominic's current medical situation, he needed constant supervision. Paying top dollar for a skilled doctor made perfect sense.
