Bella's POV
Lucius's declaration struck like lightning, obliterating the peaceful atmosphere.
I watched Richard and Genevieve freeze in place, rendered speechless by his audacity.
Their eyes darted between each other—first bewildered, then utterly horrified.
I could practically read their thoughts: He wants to marry two women as equals!
A sharp intake of breath filled the room. Richard grimaced as though in physical pain.
Genevieve, normally the picture of composure, turned rigid as marble, clearly battling the urge to unleash a string of curses.
Both somehow held their tongues, though I could tell they felt like they'd swallowed something vile.
I sensed Richard's bitter thoughts: No wonder Lord Thorne kept Ivy hidden. This suggestion is absolutely disgusting.
The quiet stretched so thin you could cut it with a knife.
The whole scene felt surreal.
Lucius's earlier confidence began to waver.
