Alex stared at the text message on his phone.
Jessica: "Alex... baby... I heard the news. David is ruined. I was so scared. I miss you. Can we talk? I realized I made a mistake..."
"Sebastian," Alex called out.
The butler stepped forward. "Sir?"
Alex handed him the phone. "Read this."
Sebastian adjusted his monocle and read the message. His expression turned to one of pure disgust. "A truly shameless woman, sir. Shall I block her number?"
"No," Alex smiled, swirling his champagne. "If I block her, she gets off too easy. She humiliated me in public. I think it's only fair I return the favor."
Alex typed a reply.
To Jessica: "I'm having a small celebration tonight at my new place. If you want to talk, come over. 8:00 PM. Dress to impress."
He hit send.
"Sebastian," Alex stood up. "Prepare the Grand Hall. I want the finest catering, the best wine, and a live orchestra. And... hire a few security guards who aren't afraid to be rough."
Sebastian bowed low. "It will be a night to remember, Master."
[Meanwhile: A Luxury Apartment Downtown]
"Jessica! Where are you going?!"
David was sitting on the floor, surrounded by unpaid bills and legal notices. His eyes were red from crying. His father was still in the ICU after the heart attack.
Jessica was zipping up her suitcase. She was wearing a stunning red evening gown—the last expensive thing she owned.
"I'm leaving, David," Jessica said coldly. She checked her makeup in the mirror.
"Leaving? Now?" David grabbed her leg. "My dad is dying! We are bankrupt! I need you, Jess! You said you loved me!"
Jessica kicked his hand away.
"I loved you when you were the heir to a billion-dollar empire," Jessica spat. "Now? You're just a broke crybaby with a criminal father. Do you really think I'm going to live in a motel with you?"
"You... you gold digger!" David screamed.
Jessica laughed. She pulled out her phone and showed him Alex's text.
"Look at this, David. Alex invited me over. He has a 'new place.' He probably won the lottery. He still loves me."
David's eyes widened. "Alex? You're going back to him? After everything we did to him?"
"Alex is a softie," Jessica smirked, opening the door. "I'll cry a little, show some cleavage, and he'll take me back in five minutes. Goodbye, David. Good luck with the debt."
SLAM.
She walked out, leaving David screaming in the empty apartment.
[7:55 PM - Dragon Bay]
Jessica took a taxi to the address Alex sent. When the taxi started driving up Dragon Mountain, her heart started pounding.
He lives here? she thought. No way. Maybe he's a waiter here?
But when the taxi stopped at the massive iron gates of Villa No. 1, Jessica stopped breathing.
The guard stepped out. "Name?"
"Jessica," she stammered. "I... I'm here to see Alex."
The guard checked his list. He gave her a strange look. "Go on in. The Master is waiting."
The Master?
The gates opened. Jessica walked up the long driveway, her heels clicking on the pavement. She saw the massive white mansion, the infinity pool, the fleet of servants waiting at the door.
And there, standing on the balcony like a king, was Alex.
He was wearing a white tuxedo that glowed under the moonlight. He looked down at her with a gaze that was impossible to read.
Jessica felt a rush of greed so strong it made her dizzy.
This is it, she thought. This is the jackpot. I have to get him back. No matter what.
She put on her best smile, adjusted her dress to show more skin, and walked toward the door.
[DING!]

Alex looked down from the balcony and took a sip of wine.
"Let the show begin."
