Chapter 21 - Class Representative

After the arrival of demons, a celestial race known as angels soon came to earth. This race was the most mysterious of all the others. Little was known about them, but that was because they didn't settle on earth.

They came to assist in the war against demons and didn't partake in the war between the other races. An angel's strength is determined by how many wings they have. The strongest angel is said to be an eight-winged angel.

They were said to be the purest of all the races. Even more pure than elves. And that was how it actually was. They were malevolent beings. They performed a special technique that rid their bodies of all impure thoughts. They didn't experience emotions like hate, anger, or jealousy.

Since Levi was just as kind-hearted as them, the angels developed a natural interest in him. In the later arcs, they took him under their wings and gave him a power that transcended everything.

After his training with the angels, Levi became the single most powerful being in existence.

I wasn't really worried about Professor Ariel. If I was careful, then I didn't have to worry about being exposed. It wasn't long before she and the students began to hit it off. There was something about her that made you feel welcome.

She wore a smile on her face as she spoke, and for a teacher, she seemed to be bursting with energy.

"Before you get on with your first class of the day, I want you to elect a class representative. This is actually a huge responsibility, so don't take it lightly," Professor Ariel warned, but her cute face made it hard to take her seriously. "The person selected as class representative will have to see to the well-being of everyone in the class, and if there are any issues, you will have to work hand in hand with me, your homeroom teacher, to have it solved. Feel free to nominate yourselves."

"..."

The entire class went silent. With an explanation like that, no one seemed willing to take on the role. It sounded like too much of a bother.

Naturally, since no one would volunteer, everyone's gaze went to Levi since he was the most capable person in the class. Levi didn't particularly want to become class representative since it would get in the way of his training, but being the selfless guy he was, he decided to take on the task.

"I'll do it!"

Levi's hand started to go up, but someone beat him to the punch and volunteered before he could.

The person who had volunteered was a female student with long pink hair. Her uniform was neatly done, and she seemed like one of those girls who preferred to wear short skirts. Without a shadow of a doubt, this girl was arguably the most beautiful girl in the classroom, so she easily drew the eyes of everyone.

Jeffrey in particular seemed to have hearts in his eyes as he gawked at her. I think this was what you called love at first sight. Somehow, she had managed to slip under his radar before, but now he had his eyes on her. It wasn't just him; quite a few of the boys seemed love-struck.

Professor Ariel smiled happily and clapped her hands together excitedly.

"Excellent, our first volunteer! Can you please tell us your name?"

"Oh, forgive me, it's Kiki Vane."

Immediately, a wave of whispers ripped through the classroom as some of the students recognized that name. Our watches didn't only have our ranking, but it had a list, ranking every first-year student.

Some students had memorized the name of the students in the top ten. In the entire first year, Kiki was ranked 6th. Some recognized her by that ranking, while others recognized her by her last name. The Vanes was a rather highly ranked guild.

I too was mostly interested in her last name since it held more importance to me than the other students. The reason was that I held a close relationship with one of the Vanes. That person was actually Sophia Vane.

Before her last name was changed to Seymour, her last name was Vane. The truth was that Kiki was actually Sophia's cousin. That is part of the reason I didn't want Sophia to know the truth about her parent's death just yet.

If she did, it would lead to complications, and I didn't know how the story would progress from there.

After Kiki had introduced herself, Professor Ariel quickly explained her role, then left the classroom.

Our first class of the day was a class called Bio-Cultural Integration. It was a class where you learn the biology of some of the different races along with some of their culture and social habits. As a hero, you would need to interact with different groups of people, so this was the purpose behind this course.

The teacher was a bald man that looked to be in his late 50s. The class went well. I felt that the information I would learn in this class would be extremely useful in the future.

After Bio-Cultural Integration class ended, the next class was actually a class which I was deeply interested in: Weapons Cultivation. With the rest of my classmates, I packed up my things and headed to the classroom.

The room where weapons cultivation would take place looked a bit like a dojo. The entire floor was covered in mats, and that was where we were forced to sit. We took off our shoes beforehand, at the door before entering the room. It was one of the rules before entering the room.

Sitting among the students, I couldn't help but feel excited. Cultivating my soul weapon was something I long wanted to do, but I didn't have the means or resources.

Since I was a demon, I would only be able to cultivate a demonic blade. I was curious to see what form it would take.

Not long after we settled into the room, a man with long black hair that extended all the way down to his back entered the room. He wore loose trousers and pants. The moment he entered the class, he clasped his hands and bowed slightly.

"Welcome to weapons cultivation. I am Professor Elijah Sinclair, and I will be your teacher for the rest of this semester."
