Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Let Fu Hua Go Live to Draw the Fire

Fu Hua suddenly thought of something and blurted out, "The reason Director Hessian is still at the company—isn't it because he's worried Elysia will come after him?"

The others all had a sudden realization.

Kiana: "Yeah, when Honkai Impact 3rd was airing before, Director Hessian always watched it at home with Elysia."

Raiden Mei: "No wonder something felt off today. It's because the director is still here."

Mobius: "Elysia wouldn't lose her temper, but she'd definitely find a way to mess with him properly."

Theresa: "What? So Director Hessian is the type who's afraid of his wife."

Murata Himeko: "What do you think would happen if the audience found out the director is still at the company?"

Rita: "He probably… wouldn't be able to go home today."

Durandal: "He'd end up with bruises all over—black and blue here, swollen there."

Even Seele, who had only recently been signed to the company, timidly said, "Is being a director really that dangerous? Should we call the police~?"

Her words made everyone in the company burst into laughter.

Hessian sat off to the side, watching the expressions on this group of people.

He was thinking about how to handle this situation.

To be honest!

He really hadn't expected the people in this world to have such low tolerance.

It's just watching a TV drama—why do they keep threatening to take it offline and make it real? Who could handle that?

Besides…

The real stabbing hasn't even started yet. When the storyline specially filmed for Elysia comes out later… would he even survive?

No!

He had to start training this world's audience to build up their resistance to emotional damage in advance.

Before that, he needed to redirect the audience's anger first.

He scanned the room, and finally fixed his gaze on Fu Hua.

Fu Hua, who had been happily laughing along with everyone, suddenly felt her hair stand on end. A bad premonition welled up inside her.

She quickly said, "Director Hessian, please don't look at me like that."

Hessian suddenly broke into a smile.

Everyone else turned to look at him.

Being able to smile at a time like this definitely wasn't a good sign.

Hessian said with a smile, "Fu Hua, I've thought about it—the live stream today, you're the most suitable person for it."

"Ah!!"

Fu Hua shot to her feet.

She turned and tried to run straight out of the company.

Are you kidding?!

In the show, she had just shattered all of Kiana's illusions and taken her to Schicksal.

And now she was supposed to start a live stream?

That would mean facing the full brunt of the audience's fury.

No way!

She would die.

Hessian had already anticipated that she would try to escape. He rushed ahead, closed the company's main door, and locked it.

He gave a grand excuse: "The audience is very emotional right now. For everyone's safety, I'll lock the door for the time being."

Fu Hua stood at the door with nowhere to run.

She could only plead pitifully, "Director Hessian, please let me off the hook… I was wrong earlier. I shouldn't have teased you."

Hessian walked over, patted her shoulder, and said kindly, "What are you saying? Am I the kind of person who holds grudges? I just think you're the most suitable for today's stream. You wouldn't want our cute audience to come and smash up the company, right?"

Fu Hua said aggrievedly, "Then why can't you do the stream? Wouldn't that draw the fire even better?"

Hessian explained, "Of course it's different. I haven't appeared in the drama yet. The rule for streams is that only characters who have appeared can do it. Don't worry—your safety will be guaranteed."

Fu Hua muttered under her breath, "Your guarantee doesn't give me even the slightest sense of security."

She looked toward the others for help.

Just as Kiana was about to speak up for her,

Hessian cut in first: "Or… do you all think you'd be more suitable than her? I could consider letting one of you do it instead."

"Uh…"

Everyone immediately gave up on trying to persuade him.

Kiana didn't forget to mutter, "Devil! He's literally a devil!"

Mobius, who had thought about it the most, spoke up: "Fu Hua, Hessian is right—you really are the most suitable choice. But don't worry. When the stream starts later, no matter what the audience says about you, just tell them it was all on the Bishop's orders."

"What the hell!" Hessian glared at Mobius.

This woman was directly pulling all the hate onto him.

She really wasn't worried about the audience coming to chop him up.

Fu Hua instantly felt a glimmer of hope and nodded excitedly. "Okay! Thank you—I know what to do now."

Soon,

the live stream began.

The number of viewers in the stream skyrocketed, surpassing one million in a short time and continuing to rise.

Especially when they saw that the streamer was Fu Hua.

All kinds of angry emotions turned into barrage comments, flooding the stream like crazy.

"Fu Hua, do you even have a heart? Why would you do that to Kiana!"

"Ptoo! I never should have trusted you—you're actually an undercover agent."

"Fu Hua, I hate you. I'll never forgive you in this lifetime."

"After doing something like that, don't you feel even the slightest bit of guilt? And you still have the face to start a live stream?"

"What, are you planning to stream Kiana's breakdown afterward? Or do you want to explain that you did nothing wrong?"

"Let me tell you—no matter what reason you have, just the fact that you hurt Kiana is unforgivable."

"I hate you! I'll hate you for the rest of my life!!"

Just the opening barrage was enough to turn Fu Hua's face pale. She was at a loss for how to start speaking.

The audience really had been stabbed too hard by the plot!

Hessian was also a little surprised. The tolerance of this world's audience was too low—he'd have to help them toughen up more.

Mobius gave Fu Hua a signal.

Following what they had planned, Fu Hua said, "I started this stream not to seek anyone's forgiveness, nor do I expect anyone to forgive me. In this world, my identity is first and foremost a Valkyrie of Schicksal, and only secondarily a student of St. Freya Academy and Kiana's class president."

"You don't know what is hidden inside Kiana's body, nor how much harm she could cause. If left unchecked, far more people would suffer."

"To fight against Honkai, sacrifices are unavoidable. And… this was also the Bishop's order."

Hearing these words,

the audience in the stream grew even angrier: "Is that what you wanted to say? What do you mean sacrifices are unavoidable? What do you mean it's the Bishop's order? If he told you to die to fight Honkai, would you?"

Fu Hua answered without hesitation, "Then I would willingly sacrifice myself—as long as it meant defeating Honkai!"

"…"

This answer shocked everyone.

Many comments got stuck in their throats. After choking for a long while, they finally said, "You're insane! You've completely lost it! Do you have to obey everything the Bishop says? Do you have to sacrifice yourself to defeat Honkai? You're a complete lunatic, aren't you?"

Many people sent similar barrages, feeling that Fu Hua's mindset was wrong, that there was something mentally off about her—that she had been completely brainwashed by Schicksal.

Fu Hua only gazed firmly ahead, fully in character, and said, "Misplaced compassion will only lead to far more terrible consequences. I believe that before long, you will all understand the meaning of these words."
