— In Dieppe Beach, also known as "Plage de Dieppe" —
The Triple S-Threat monster had arrived. Its sheer appearance was enough to shake the ground as it stepped onto the beach.
The massive lizard, Godzilla-like monster, reached a height of 150 meters. It roared, sending shockwaves through the nearby areas and causing waves in the ocean.
Dieppe's streets were filled with screams and horror. Panicked parents fled with their children and families, footsteps pounding, while the roads were clogged with traffic.
One of them, wearing an employee suit, exclaimed, "Why do those damn adventurers take so long to arrive?!"
Kaiju's dorsal spines glowed blue ominously, and he unleashed a concentrated blast of radiation from his mouth, reaching over 500,000° Celsius.
Dieppe lit up as the Kaiju fired, causing nearby civilians to block their eyes in a protective manner.
Suddenly, someone shouted, "Severance of the Light!"—one of Lucien's casting spells. He pointed his staff toward the sky. A massive divine light hexagon-shaped barrier generated from the sky, blocking Kaiju's atomic blast.
Lucien Faure, an Grade lV sorcerer, Mid-S Rank mage titled 'Guardian Light' member of the Cernunnos Guild.
A blond fairy spirit glowing yellow flew and landed on one of Lucien's shoulders. Her name is Ivy.
Lucien held his staff tightly while still pointing towards the sky "Everyone Evacuate!" he shouted as the atomic breath starts to fade.
Kaiju charged its attack again; energy and mana particles gathered around its mouth. Its dorsal spines glowed blue ominously as it prepared a massive atomic blast—stronger than before, an attack that could vaporize everything in its path. It aimed toward the city once again.
"Did you have a good nap?" Lucien asked.
"Not enough..." She let out a yawn and adds, "But I guess it's not the time to be slacking off, right?" Ivy rested her left arm at her waist, her stare lock into the monster.
"We still have a business to take care of..." Lucien, sweat dropping down his face as he holds the staff firmly and stares at the monstrosity standing tall while it prepares to unleash its attack.
A rush of air passes by...
— Back to café —
"Huh?" Jerome stared at the door of the café.
He was flabbergasted when he saw four terrorists holding different types of guns; one of them approached him—he looked like the leader.
"Uh... sir—!" His voice abruptly stopped as the terrorist boss grabbed onto his collar tautly.
Jerome breath came to a hitch in his throat, and thought to himself: "Oh God, please spare me! I don't want to die yet!" Beads of sweat dripped down his forehead.
"Hand me the money." The boss smirked as he tightens the grip.
"You don't wanna know what will happen if you do not follow my orders, right?" he added, as one of the terrorists wearing a red hoodie pointed a pistol at Jérôme's head.
"Y-yes... R-right away, sir!" The boss let go of his collar, then he ran off towards the retail counter.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!!! How did I even get into this situation!?" he mumbled as he hurriedly grabbed the cash from the counter.
The leader declared, "Ha! We're lucky that monster appeared; now we can steal all the money we want!"
One of the terrorist members wearing a beanie asked, "Uh... boss, who's that guy?" His finger pointed toward Loki.
He stared at him. "Ho~?" he let out a grin
The boss noticed Loki, who was still playing video games, clueless about the surroundings happening around him.
"What do we have here?" he approached him then he adds, "A lost child or something, perhaps? " he giggled.
"Hey—" before he could even grab Loki's shoulder, his head suddenly blown by an unseen force; blood scattered everywhere.
The rest of the members were flabbergasted; their jaws dropped as they saw their boss's eyeball hit the ground.
One of them holding an AK-47 said, "What the—" his left arm suddenly exploded as the intense jolt of pain hit him, causing him to let go of the gun.
"Arghhhh!!!" he screamed in agony, eventually fainting after a few seconds.
Jerome, who was secretly hiding behind the counter peeking, thought: "That guy... H-he can use magic all along?!" His jaw dropped. He blinked, trying to make sense of what he'd just witnessed, "What kind of magic is that???"
The man in a beanie stumbled backward, muttering, "What... W-what the hell is happening..?" his voice hitched, he held the gun weakly, frightened
Another member wearing red hoodie pointed his gun at Loki. "You piece of shit! What did you do to them?!" he pulled the trigger.
Loki let out a sigh as he finally placed the phone in his pocket and stood up. His clothes were covered with blood from earlier. "You're a bit noisy, pal..." the bullet stopped mid-air and let out a small thud as it dropped to the ground.
He slowly started walking toward the retail counter, his hands resting in his pocket.
The red hoodie guy pulled the trigger six more times, just to kill the monster right in front of him, but it didn't seem to work as the bullets just started dropping to the ground.
Red hoodie guy shouted to the other man wearing a beanie, "HEY! Don't just stand there, help me, you piece of trash!" A towering shadow appeared right in front of him.
The man wearing a beanie muttered, "W-we... we can't beat him..!"
Jerome's head ran in thoughts: "Whoa his terrifying as hell. Well, at least he saved me, I hope so..."
Loki stood right in front of the red-hoodie guy. "You're blocking the way." His voice was cold.
The terrorist collapsed, his body falling in a heap of blood and organs and Loki stepped over it letting out a crunchy noise.
The guy wearing a beanie, his fingers numb, and the gun crashed to the ground. His legs shaking, he runs toward the exit in fear.
Loki, who just wanted to pay for the coffee, headed toward the counter. "Hey, waiter, you still there?"
Jerome, standing up firmly after being called, responded, "Y-yes, sir?" Loki stared at him coldly.
His mind ran in multiple thoughts: "Uhh... Why is he looking at me like that???" He gasped for air as his heart throbbing fast, "I didn't do anything though???"
