"Lilian! Lilian!! Open your eyes—don't you dare die on me!"
Water splashed across her face.
Lilian sucked in a sharp breath, her body jerking as she coughed violently. Her chest heaved as she struggled to breathe, water trickling down her chin.
Her eyelids fluttered. Slowly, painfully, she forced them open.
"She's waking up," a voice said, soft with relief.
Lilian groaned softly, her head pounding as awareness crept back in.
Her eyes roaming around the room, throat hoarse.
Katie, tears dropping from the corner of her eyes
With a tremble voice, Am sorry, I..I..I didn't mean...

Katie inhaled deeply, rubbing her hand over her face in frustration. "You don't get to disappear on me," she said quietly. "Not without a fight."

Katie squeeze her hand. "that's all am asking"
Lilian closed her eyes, Tears falling from the corner of her eyes, exhaustion washed over her.
And yet, deep down in her heart the question remained unanswered:
