Chapter 140 - The White Coat in the Hexagon

Divine Eagle's Pokémon Gene Experiments

The battlefield had fallen silent.

One move—

And everything was cleared.

Thundurus floated midair, clearly pleased with itself.

Then—

Drip.

A molten drop fell from above.

Then another.

And another.

The metal ceiling—heated to its limit by Arcanine—was finally giving way.

Within seconds, a glowing hole opened up.

Ethan smiled faintly.

"Blazehound, stop."

"Ice Lord—freeze it."

Glastrier unleashed a freezing gust.

Rapid heating.

Rapid cooling.

Metal fatigue.

Brittle fracture.

Classic.

"Metagross—break it."

Metagross surged upward.

One punch.

Crack.

Ten punches.

Collapse.

The ceiling shattered open.

Breaking Out

Owen's face turned ashen.

"Brother… I can't avenge you…"

Everything had been perfect.

Until it wasn't.

Ethan mounted Metagross.

"Let's go."

They blasted upward through the gap.

But—

The underground arena wasn't directly beneath the surface.

They emerged into the level above.

The White Coat

Chaos.

People fleeing.

Guards shouting.

But in the middle of it all—

One figure stood out.

A man in a white coat.

Surrounded.

Protected.

Even as Ethan—the source of destruction—appeared, those guards didn't flinch.

They stayed locked around him.

That alone said everything.

Ethan's eyes narrowed.

"In a place like this… you're interesting."

"Tornadus."

"Bring him."

Tornadus vanished.

A storm tore through the guards.

Their Pokémon tried to resist—

Pointless.

Within seconds, the white-coated man was dragged through the air and dropped in front of Ethan.

The Truth Emerges

"What do you do?" Ethan asked calmly.

No titles.

No identity.

Just the core question.

The man trembled.

"I… I work in genetic research…"

Ethan's eyes sharpened.

Pieces clicked together instantly.

Everything aligned.

He released Mewtwo.

Mewtwo

The moment Mewtwo saw the man—

Its killing intent exploded.

Pure.

Unfiltered.

Hatred.

"Stop!"

Ethan stepped forward.

"You can't kill him."

"If you do—"

"More Pokémon will suffer what you did."

Mewtwo froze.

Barely.

Its aura still surged violently.

Ethan turned back to the scientist.

"Divine Eagle is researching Pokémon genes, right?"

"What did you do to it?"

Silence.

The man's lips trembled—

But no words came out.

Because he knew.

Speaking meant death.

Not just for him—

For his family.

Ethan's expression cooled.

"Fine."

"You'll talk later."

He didn't need answers here.

There were people back home who could extract the truth.

The Confrontation

Two figures rushed in.

Andrew Smith

Henry Taylor

"Ethan!"

"You can take Mewtwo!"

"You can take the money!"

"But that man stays!"

Their tone was urgent now.

No more arrogance.

Only desperation.

Ethan laughed coldly.

"Now you want to pay?"

"Too late."

Andrew tried one last angle.

"You're taking our expert—do you want war between alliances?!"

Ethan's eyes turned sharp.

"War?"

"You think war starts because of one person?"

"If war comes—"

"It's because you've crossed the line long ago."

Silence.

Heavy.

Final.

Ethan glanced at Mewtwo.

At the hatred.

At the scars.

At what it had become.

Then back at them.

"Pokémon can be partners."

"Friends."

"Family."

"But they are not—"

"Weapons."

The words landed like a verdict.

And for the first time—

The Divine Eagle elites realized—

This wasn't about a bounty anymore.

This was about exposure.

Judgment.

And consequences.
