June sees him and at the second she starts running away, soemthing in her damns her to stay.
"What are you doing? Without Anaïs, you can't get more lives. If she doesn't want you to have them, you won't get them. You can't speak. Well, that's tragic. You wouldn't survive, though, you know. At the uni. You'd die in a second, considering what's going on."
June kicks the head of Helios and drags the body outside with the head strapped in the jacket, and throws it in the pit.
"Before coming back, I have to think for a minute. They'll eventually find my body and know that I was sent back at the Structure. It's not like I can fake my death or anything. But there is something I can do. I'll tell them that I don't know who did it, so they stare at each other and start doubting each others. They'll obviously think the ghost girl did it, but it's too easy. I'll mkae it hard for them. They brought me into this shit, I'll smear it back on them."
At the uni, Ismael was greeted by Capucine, who closed the door when entering the dorm.
"Here's the vicious cat. Giving herself to the hunter."
"Genova is dead."
"I'm sorry?"
"Genova is dead, I saw the body. She fell to the ground over the fence."
"Why don't we just say the survivor student did it? The one using the Ether. Who cares about her, really? Imagine a raid to the Dead Zone with just the toughest of us? Why bring the youngest ones? We could just go and kill whatever's out there."
"When Genova comes back through the circle, what do you think she'll say?"
"Well, I don't know. The truth? That she was pushed by someone?"
"Right."
"What are you doing here?"
"Just looking for clues. We still have a lot of personal stuff here that belonged to the students before Helios shot the fuck out of it."
"But you already know where it is, right?"
"Yes, but not how it works. If your university had a place like this that close to it, you'd eventually talk about it, right? You'd mention, talk about it."
"That would mark me, that's for sure."
"Exactly. So we're looking for...what. What is that, what is going on?"
"I've found something. In the lowest part of this uni. All the way down in the subterranean parts. There are inscriptions akin to what we had back on Earth."
"What kind?"
"The hell kind. Where I was, with Melisa. Listen, I know you and I kinda wanted to kill each other, but I think this calls for a timeout. If Osmon is here, this changes a lot for me. And for her. We didn't kill you before and now we can't. So we'll just work with it."
"Show me."
A minute later in the area Capucine mentionned, Ismael did confirm the symbol on the door corresponding to the seal on her forehead. Once inside he shot her in the back of the head and hid the body inside one of the decaying machines. It didn't seem that it was maintained, so he thought it was the most appropriate. After inspecting the surroundings, he decided he would hide the bodies in there from now on.
Capucine found June at the Structure, asking what was going on.
"One of them killed me. I don't know who."
"Don't worry, I have an idea who did."
"Oh, that's just good."
"You do? Who do you think it is?"
"Ismael. He just shot me at the uni. We should go back and tell everyone. Killing him won't do anything."
"You'll need my help."
"Genova! No way, you too?"
"Yeah...he cut off my hands and pushed me down the open area in the middle of the staircase lanes. I crashed down. Listen. We should stay here as he sends more of us and takes us down one by one. He'll eventually run out of people to kill."
"What about Grid and Influenza?"
"I don't know. He seems to be after us for now."
"He's going after all of us? For what? Is that even him? What changed?"
"Killing Helios might have done that. Maybe he did too much."
Piper and Ruin joined in the circle, followed by Ashnael and Amphelise. Then Melisa and Awane. The new group questionned everything but Ruin told them about the wall with the bench, the numbers and the blood.
"He ran a knife in his brain to stimulate his memory part and remember how he found out how to kill Helios. That moght have done something to him."
"I don't see that as an excuse. He's killing us."
"To be honest he's been killing people since the Killing of Nara. There's nothing new."
"This one is different, he has to die at least once to fully reset."
"So we go back and ambush him."
Alice and Raven then entered the circle, terrified and in shock.
"What did he to you?"
"The student killed us both. Alice first then me."
"Who's still out there?"
"Grant, Karin, Yael and Anaïs."
At the university.
"No one will ever stop me from doing what I want to do. I am free. I am not encaged by women or friends or whatever else. I will keep on killing them until all their lives are exhausted. I'm going for the Dead Zone right now and I'm killing everything I see."
On the road, he saw some bushes move in the distance and instantly pulled the trigger on it. The animal ran away and Ismael caught it and opened it with his knife. Thanks to all the people he killed and sacrificed, he was able to create even more ammos for his weapons. Which he used to torture and kill more animals on the way to the Dead Zone.
Arrived at destination, Ismael saw Grid waiting for him and shot him in the legs.
