The VIP room door clicked shut behind us and the music from downstairs turned into this dull thump-thump like a heartbeat with a hangover. I was still swaying a little tequila buzzing hard in my veins, making everything feel too bright and too loud even though it was just the two of us now. Si-woo had me pinned against the wall, one hand braced next to my head, the other still gripping my arm like he thought I'd bolt if he let go.
I grinned up at him sloppy, defiant, the kind of grin that usually got me punched or kissed, sometimes both in the same night.
"Still waiting for you to prove it, Si woo," I said, voice thick. "Or are we just gonna stand here staring like idiots?"
He didn't answer right away. Just stared. Eyes flicking over my face, mouth, cheeks, the way my eyes were probably glassy from the drinks and the crying I refused to admit I'd done earlier on that sidewalk. His thumb brushed my jaw. Softly . Too soft. It pissed me off.
