Chapter 59 - | Gathering

James, Jude, Matthew, Tabitha and I stayed in the room sitting on the floor and had these deep talks about different random things. While we're talking with one another, someone suddenly knocks at the door, making the five of us stop and look at the door. "I'll go get it," I said as I stood up and walked towards the door to open it. "Yeshua!" I said with gladness in my voice. Yeshua chuckled then smiled. "Hello, Maria," greet Yeshua still with a smile on His lips. "Teacher!" Called Jude, James, Matthew and Tabitha with excitement in their voices.

I opened the door much more and stepped aside, "Please, come in," I said to Yeshua with a smile. "Am I not interrupting anything?" Asked Yeshua as He walked inside the room. "You never interrupted anything, Teacher," said James with a smile. "You're just on time, Teacher," said Tabitha. "Always," I whispered to myself as I closed the door when a foot stopped it from closing. "Is there still room for five more?" Asked Simon. Of course. Who else will place their foot to stop the door?

I opened the door again and looked at them. "I do hope so," I replied as they walked inside the room. "Seriously, what's the point of having multiple rooms when we'll only gather in this one room?" Asked Thomas as he looked around the room. "Get used to it, Thomas. This is how we were raised in provincial life," John said to Thomas. Then I closed the door. I can't believe that the 11 of us were able to gather in this little room.

As I walked closer to Matthew, Tabitha, Jude and James, they were staying quiet while exchanging glances to each other—except Matthew—then glancing at Simon. I sat beside Tabitha then subtly elbowed her, making her look at me. I shook my head while looking at her. The three of them stopped. "What were you all doing here gathering?" Asked Simon. "Talking about different random stuff and getting to know one another." I answered while looking at Simon.

"H-hey, Jude! What time is the wedding again?" Asked Andrew as he looked at Jude. "Oh. Uhm 5:00 pm," answered Jude as he looked at Andrew. "Could you tell me again as to why they want to wed early in the evening?" Thomas asked as he gestures his hand towards James. "Well, our cousin and her soon to be husband wanted to kiss at sunset." Answered James as he looked at Thomas. "That's just what Jude told us the other day," said Thomas, making Simon look at him. "Thomas." Called Simon, making Thomas look at him. "I-I'm just asking," said Thomas. "Kissing at sunset would be the most romantic thing of all!" Said John as he looked up at the ceiling, making Yeshua chuckle.

Jaime chuckles as well while looking at John, "I didn't know you are such a romantic, little brother," said Jaime to John with a smile on his face. John quickly glared at Jaime then smirked at him, "Then why don't you tell Ta—" before John even finished what he's saying, Jaime quickly covered his mouth in panic. Simon then elbowed Andrew gently as he looked at him with a grin, making Andrew look at him as well then nodded in response. "Aren't you also a romantic, my dear Jaime?" Teased Simon as he crossed his arms while now looking at Jaime.

Oh, right! Jaime even attempted to write a love letter for Tabitha before all of this! Jaime quickly looked at Simon with widened eyes as John escaped from his older brother's hand. I tightened my lips then covered it with my hand while Andrew also covered his mouth with his hand. Thomas looked at us confused. I forgot. They don't know our inside joke. But then Yeshua joined in the fun, "My dear Jaime, if you only sent it," said Yeshua with a huge smile on his face. "Teacher! Not you, too!" Said Jaime defeated. "What's happening right now, Maria?" Asked Tabitha as she leaned in closer to me. I looked at her and I could not hide my smile. "We're teasing Jaime about his crush," I answered with a smile.

But then Tabitha suddenly looked… saddened? "Oh. I-is that one of your uhm-inside jokes?" asked Tabitha as she looked down at the floor. "Y-yeah," the only word I responded with.
