Indhu's POV
The next morning arrived way too quickly.
The moment I stepped into school, I knew exactly what I had to do.
Payback.
Swetha was already running around the classroom when I charged in. Charlotte instantly jumped onto Swetha's back, laughing like this was a full-contact sport. On the other side, the boys tried to escape by hiding behind the desks—but not on my watch.
I grabbed both of them by their ears at the same time.
Pure chaos.
Shouting, laughing, fake crying—everything mixed together until we finally stopped, mostly because other students started staring at us like we'd lost our minds.
Honestly… what else could anyone expect from us?
—
Later, during lunch—
Wait. Why is my school life always about food, friends, and breaks?
Well… maybe that's exactly what I like the most.
Okay, okay—back to the point.
Swetha and Charlotte were arguing loudly over a math answer. Aditya sat quietly, solving puzzles in his book like the rest of the world didn't exist. Rohan was doodling random faces in the margins of his notebook. And I was staring out the window, my thoughts orbiting somewhere near Pluto.
Then suddenly—an idea hit me.
I pulled everyone closer.
We all leaned in like we were planning World War III.
I lowered my voice and said, "Guys… I watched a movie last night where the hero swaps bodies with his friends. What do you think would happen to us if something like that happened?"
For a second, no one spoke.
Then—
"Hey… wait…" I narrowed my eyes
Aditya blinked rapidly,"Why… do I have earrings?"
We looked at each other.
And then—
Complete chaos broke loose.
—
Swetha—inside Aditya's body—stood up and adjusted her sleeves calmly.
"Okay, I don't like how tall I am. This is giving me altitude sickness."
Aditya—trapped in Swetha's body—whispered in horror,
"I have… to talk… to people? I can't even hide behind my book now…"
Rohan, stuck in Charlotte's body, was fully panicking.
"Why do I feel… so polite all of a sudden?!"
Charlotte, now in Rohan's body, crossed her arms.
"I feel… like making a joke about the teacher's handwriting. Oh no. It's happening."
I looked down at myself.
"Wait. I'm still me? Why am I always left out in magical things?!"
—
The rest of the day turned insane.
They somehow survived exams, surprise speeches, and lunch arguments—all in the wrong bodies.
Swetha, in Aditya's body, had to play the piano in music class but accidentally turned it into a weird jazzy freestyle.
Rohan, trapped as Charlotte, was forced to read a poem aloud—with perfect diction.
Charlotte, in Rohan's body, couldn't stop cracking sarcastic jokes.
And Aditya, stuck as Swetha, ended up leading a class discussion… and completely froze mid-sentence.
The best moment was, when they tried to explain everything to a confused classmate—only to realize they were speaking in each other's voices.
—
Then I blinked.
And just like that—snap—everything returned to normal.
The whole thing had been in my head.
I'd been imagining it… and narrating it to them.
As I studied their faces, they all looked relieved that none of it actually happened.
Except Rohan.
He stared dramatically at his hands.
"I'm me again!" he announced, acting like the switch had truly happened.
Swetha, fully understanding the assignment, checked her reflection.
"Phew."
Aditya sat down slowly and whispered,
"…never again."
Charlotte smiled slightly.
"That was terrifying. But weirdly… fun."
I finally stood up and declared,
"Next time something magical happens, I'm switching with a teacher. I want to know their grading logic."
The group burst into laughter.
And just like that, another ordinary school day turned into something unforgettable—
because we loved our imaginations a little too much.
And honestly?
We loved it that way.
