Chapter 2: Hostage 002 to Control the main system
The man, who had come back to life with his memories intact, was break out in a cold sweat, realizing that no one would help him with his so-called rebellion.
System 001 also clearly stated that if the man died again, the system would not help him come back to life.
As one of the Common People who had lived honestly for over twenty years, he was so scared by this ordeal that he didn't dare mention anything about rebelling or becoming king again, feeling that the stories of casual rebellion in books were all fake.
From then on, he lived honestly every day, and he no longer dared to look down on his gentle wife.
Later, when the system asked him to do various good deeds to accumulate faith points, he honestly helped everyone around him.
He didn't even dare use the skill 'Companion of the Red Sun,' fearing it would destroy the crops he had worked so hard to plant.
In this way, by helping those around him, it took him until the age of sixty to save up two thousand faith points.
By this time, his wife had died and his two sons were old and frail, yet he remained young because of the system.
Faced with the pointing and whispering of those around him, he had no choice but to leave his hometown, changing his location and identity to continue living.
At one hundred years old, he saved up five thousand faith points and exchanged them for his first skill.
In the following hundred years, relying on the skills he exchanged, he saved up ten thousand faith points.
By the time he was only one hundred million points away from the one billion faith points set by the main system, he had lived for over eight thousand years.
During this period, he had no family or friends. He only constantly changed identities and places to live.
Finally, he became numb and weary. When he had saved up nine hundred million faith points, he chose to commit suicide.
This was a massive blow to 001. Its first mission was a continuous failure, and in the end, the Host chose suicide. This caused the newly manufactured little system to become completely withdrawn.
After the Host's suicide, 001, carrying the failed mission, returned to the System Space and chose self-destruction.
With 001's tragedy as a precedent, the main system took it as a lesson; subsequently manufactured systems no longer had skill systems.
As the last skill-based system, the main system was very worried about 002. It wanted to lower the final faith point requirement for the mission, but unfortunately, the programs and data set at the time of manufacture could not be changed even by the main system; it could only continue to add functions to the system.
Unless the system was formatted and re-manufactured.
As the 001 and 002 that it had created with great care for the first time, the main system doted on them excessively; the status of these two systems was worlds apart from other systems.
Having already lost 001, the main system was naturally reluctant to format 002.
In the end, it simply didn't allow 002 to go on missions, keeping it in the System Space. This was to prevent it from encountering a Host like 001, who might spend thousands of years without saving enough faith points and eventually choose suicide after living long enough.
Seeing other systems binding with Hosts and going off to enjoy themselves, 002 became anxious and snuck out while the main systemwasn't paying attention.
002 felt it had learned from 001's lesson and summarized the reasons for failure: one couldn't choose someone from the original world, the Host must have no family or other attachments to the world they are in, and there must be a reward after saving enough faith points to entice the Host to actively complete missions.
Finally, passing through the modern era, it abducted Dawn Moon and brought her to this ancient world.
After listening to the little system sprite's words, a "kind" smile appeared on Dawn Moon's face.
"So, the part about being sent back only after saving one billion faith points and getting a one billion reward was all made up by you?" If that were really the case, no matter how cute this little system was, she would let it know the wickedness of the human heart!
The Little Sprite hurriedly shook its head to explain, fearing a misunderstanding from the Host: "No, traveling through planes consumes a lot of energy; only the main system can do it easily. I really have no way to take you back right now. Only by saving enough faith points can I tear through space and take you across planes."
"As for the one billion reward upon returning to the modern era after saving enough faith points, that is also real. I didn't lie to you."
By the end, the Little Sprite's tone carried a hint of grievance.
Few girls can refuse a cute and adorable creature.
Dawn Moon couldn't refuse; at least when the system bore her no ill will, she couldn't refuse a system with such a cute shell.
She immediately held the Little Sprite in her arms and coaxed it softly.
As for the thought of using 002 as a hostage to control the main systemthat had flashed through her mind just now, she didn't breathe a word of it.
Next, the person and the system walked for another two days in this deep mountain forest.
Dawn Moon touched her stomach. Although this body didn't feel hunger without eating, the habit of three meals a day for over twenty years made her feel weak and powerless after several days without food or drink.
Especially since her mouth felt incredibly bland.
Looking at the red fruits growing on an unfamiliar tree ahead, she casually snapped a branch from the side and struck at the nearest fruits.
A few minutes later, watching Dawn Moon happily eating the fruit, the Little Sprite flew around her: "Host, how can you just eat something you don't recognize?"
Dawn Moon finished a fruit in a few bites: "Can this body be poisoned to death?"
The Little Sprite shook its head and said proudly, "A body molded from system data is not afraid of poison!"
"Then that's that." She continued to crunch on the fruit.
The Little Sprite was dumbfounded, then scanned the fruit with its data and got a result.
"Host, eating this fruit can enhance breast size."
"Pfft—"
Dawn Moon spat out a mouthful of fruit, then looked down. The size the system had molded was just right; it didn't need to be any bigger.
Looking at the half-eaten fruit in her hand, she fell silent and said seriously, "If the body isn't afraid of poison, it naturally isn't afraid of the effects of various things, right?"
The Little Sprite thought for a moment and said uncertainly, "Probably, but it's not written in my operating system whether it will be affected."
Dawn Moon felt it wouldn't be affected. After all, whatever she ate or drank would disappear upon entering the body, and all aspects of the body's mechanisms maintained a certain set of data. This was also why this body didn't need to eat, drink, or use the bathroom.
However, she couldn't bring herself to eat the fruit anymore.
She looked at the fruits on the tree with a bit of regret. If only she could take them back to the modern era to sell.
She could probably make a small fortune.
After another day of walking, while resting, the Little Sprite suddenly said in surprise, "Host, there's a carriage one kilometer ahead!"
Dawn Moon's eyes lit up instantly!
She stood up quickly and walked in the direction the system indicated.
The system could scan everything within a ten-kilometer radius centered on the Host. Unfortunately, having randomly landed in the deep mountains, no matter how the system scanned these past few days, the images showed nothing but deep forest.
Finally, she was seeing people!
When Dawn Moon arrived nearby ten minutes later, she saw several Guards surrounding a carriage, and next to the carriage, two young men were sitting on the ground eating dry rations.
Gazing at the seemingly spacious carriage, Dawn Moon's eyes gleamed.
Finally, she didn't have to keep walking
