Seraphina's Point Of View
I sat down on the edge of the plush cushion, tucking my legs beneath me as I watched Mason's bedroom door click securely shut. The apartment instantly felt quieter, yet the air between Rose and me vibrated with an almost painful level of anticipation. I could hear my own heartbeat in my ears, steady and heavy, as if my body already knew what was coming.
Rose didn't waste a second. She dragged her chair until it practically touched my knees, leaning in so close I could see the stray tear tracks drying on her cheeks and the wild, unhinged curiosity burning in her eyes. Her fingers drummed against her thigh, betraying just how badly she wanted answers. She looked like a woman starved for gossip, the kind of hunger that no amount of wine could satisfy.
