Chapter 5 - Valeria POV

The car slowly entered the mansion's private garden.

My eyes widened.

The place was huge.

Tall iron gates, endless dark-green trees, perfectly trimmed hedges, and a long stone path leading to a massive black-and-gold mansion that looked straight out of a gothic fairytale. The lights were dim, giving everything a mysterious, dangerous aura. It was dark, elegant... and intimidating.

And I loved it.

"So big..." I whispered in awe, pressing my face against the window. "And beautiful. I already love it."

Then I turned toward them, smiling brightly. "Did you prepare lunch for me?"

Both men froze.

They looked at each other like I'd just asked the weirdest question on Earth.

I added cheerfully, "And what are your names, at least?"

The man sitting behind me sighed. "Alex."

The driver immediately slapped his own forehead. "Idiot! It's supposed to be a secret!"

Alex rolled his eyes. "Oh, really?"

I chuckled. "So, Alex and Mister Mysterious, could you open the door for me, please?"

Alex hesitated for half a second, then opened the car door.

The driver snapped, "Are you crazy? What if she runs?"

Well.

I did run.

But not toward the exit.

I ran straight toward the mansion's front door.

I pushed it open dramatically and stepped inside like I owned the place.

When I turned back, Alex had removed his mask, his mouth hanging open in pure shock. He was actually handsome - brown hair, green eyes, not too tall, not too short, cute in a dangerous way.

The driver still had his mask on, but he was holding his chest like he was about to faint.

"I thought she would run away," he muttered.

Then he pointed at me. "What the hell are you doing? You just walk into people's houses like that?!"

I smirked. "It's my house too now. I'm kidnapped, remember?"

I made a cute little sound while happily skipping deeper inside.

The living room was massive - dark brown walls, black marble floors, huge windows, velvet curtains, and a giant crystal chandelier. Everything screamed luxury, danger, and power.

Dark aura.

Mafia aesthetic.

Perfect.

I jumped onto the leather sofa. "Wow. I feel at home already."

Then I added casually, "By the way, I'm not picky with food. But no sushi. I'm allergic to seafood."

Alex nodded. "Of course, Miss Victoria Hartmann. I'll prepare something."

The other men instantly grabbed him by the collar. "Are you insane?! She's not on vacation, Alex!"

Wait.

Victoria?

My smile slowly faded.

Why did he say Victoria?

I'm Valeria.

What the hell?

Before I could process it, I looked back at them. "So... where's your boss? You know, the hot mafia boss?"

A cold, calm, dangerously deep voice answered from behind me.

"Looking for me, Victoria?"

I froze.

Slowly, I turned around.

At the top of the gigantic staircase stood a man.

Tall.

Broad shoulders.

Muscular build wrapped in a perfectly tailored black suit.

Black hair.

Black eyes.

Sharp jaw.

Deadly aura.

Power radiating from every step as he descended slowly.

My breath hitched.

Oh.

My.

God.

"You're looking for me, Victoria?" he repeated coolly.

Victoria again?

The hell?

I'm Valeria.

But honestly...

Right now?

He is hot.
