Violet Parks
When Xander left I started to pack my bag for swim.
If I waste any more time, I will have to cut through some of my homework time, although I don't have much due to it being the beginning of the semester.
I avoid looking in the mirror, trying to get out as fast as I can.
When I get there, I shake the cold winter weather out, and start swimming. I do around 30 laps in total, then go to shower to wash off.
When I take a look at my phone I see a text waiting for me:
Xander: I had a great time today.
Me: Really? Judging from how you were acting in the beginning, I would've thought you were having the worst time of your life.
Xander: Any time with you is the best I've ever had.
I stared at that text over and over, not able to pull my eyes away.
Any time with you is the best I've ever had.
Before I can manage to think of a response, he types:
Although the math parts weren't my favorite, we really made up for it with the ice cream.
Xander: Oh yeah, thanks for that, by the way. It was delicious.
Me: You're welcome. It's happening again, though. We need to focus on getting you an A.
Xander: We'll see about that.
Me: Yes we will.
Me: Anyways, I need to go home. I'll text you later if I have time.
Xander: Looking forward to it, hon.
With a wide grin on my face, I put down my phone and walked out of the building.
When I get home, I finish my homework, I climb up my ladder and lay on my bed.
My phone dings and I see a text from Knox.
Hey. How was your day? Did Xander do anything?
Me: No. Why would he? He's not that bad.
Knox: Mhm. Sure.
I can practically hear his sarcastic tone from my phone.
Me: Well, it was good. He did his work, I did mine. Then he left.
I find myself removing the fact that we went out for ice cream. For a reason I don't know. I just didn't feel like that piece of information isn't necessary.
Knox: Just be safe.
Me: I will, Mom.
Knox: Yeah, yeah. You know I mean well when I say it.
Me: Okay. Well I'm going to read. Good night. I'll see you tomorrow.
Knox: Good night.
I don't understand why he's being rude to Xander. They've never talked before and he hasn't done anything wrong to Knox.
Shaking my head, I open up my Kindle to the book I am reading right now. It's best to get all my reading done at the beginning of the semester and during breaks, because I sadly won't have any time after.
I spend the rest of the night reading until around 12:30, and go to bed with a smile on my face.
