Chapter 3 - Meeting Again

The two Crown Princes, first and second, stood before the throne. The second Crown Prince, his amber eyes burning through everything, faced the first as he tried to calm him down. Both drew their swords, face to face.

Cling. Cling.

Their swords collided.

"Claude, enough with this war. You have brought terror to the kingdom. You must stop," said Danenel.

"Don't you dare try to act like you know anything. Where is sh—"

Someone pierced a sword through his chest.

Dark hair. Green eyes.

Landon?

Did Landon just kill the prince?

"Claude!!" Danenel yelled, now going after Landon.

The red sky filled with dark smoke, fire, and corruption. This looked like a nightmare.

I finally snapped out of it and saw it was Claude in front of me. Also, the memories of his death… Why was Landon there? And why did our kingdom become like that because of him?

Claude looked down at me.

This made me remember how we had actually met once before. Instead of me crying, it was you. I didn't think much about it then.

Eight years ago.

"Why are you crying?" I asked.

Blonde hair and amber eyes reflected off the moon. Silent tears rolled down his face.

"Here, let me give you this," I said, reaching into my pocket.

He stopped me. He touched my hand, and there, I saw how it was going to end. He lived a happy life with the female lead and died of old age with her.

…What changed?

"No, it's okay. I don't need your pity," he glared.

"You have too much of a pretty face to be crying like that, man," I said in an annoyed tone.

I threw my handkerchief onto him and got up. I looked down at him, smiled. His expression softened as I walked away.

That was the last time I saw him till now. I didn't think I was going to cross paths with him anymore. Because of my premonition, though I didn't finish the book, I assumed all was well but I guess not.

But now, looking at him up close, he was taller, towering over me as tears fell down my face.

"You're an ugly crier."

"Great. Another person criticized me," I rolled my eyes.

But mostly, fear crept inside me from what I had just seen. It doesn't look too far from now. They both look exactly the same in my memory. My life is already bad, and now it just got so much worse.

Even thinking about how the kingdom becomes gives me goosebumps. Did something happen to the female lead?

"Are you just going to stay in the abyss?"

Claude didn't recognize me since I was cloaked up and my hair tied back. It made sense, but how could I forget him, my favorite character in the novel?

"Oh no, this is my place. I go here to chill" I said confidently

"Chill?" He said unfamiliarity of the expression.

At night, the blue flowers reflect off the moonlight. It looks so good. I just come here to cry because this area is mostly abandoned, yet so beautiful.

"Have we met somewhere?"

He pulled out his hand and grabbed my face, moving my head side to side.

"Hey, don't touch me!"

I tried to swing his hands off of me. I was just annoyed and just a bit embarrassed. Finally, his brother called him from the carriage. If I let him go, if I don't change something, will my world look like that…

Before I could even think I ran up and grabbed his hand.
