Chapter 206 - Chapter 206: The Allure of Soccer!

Pelé finally found the word. He described Leo Lin as a product of modern football.

"Throughout history, debates about great footballers have never stopped."

"But in the end, I think what truly separates top-tier stars from ordinary ones is creativity."

"For example, the Cruyff Turn created by Cruyff—those kinds of moves belong to the player himself. They reflect his own football philosophy."

Pelé grew more and more impressed with Leo Lin. In him, he saw qualities that few other players possessed.

In the remaining minutes, Liverpool threw everyone behind the ball. As the referee blew for halftime, both teams headed back to the locker room with Liverpool leading 1-0.

Audiences across all major broadcasts were captivated by the intensity of the first half.

"To be honest, the tempo and style of this first half completely surprised me. I expected both sides to be more cautious, or maybe just go all out in an open attacking battle. Instead, both teams stayed composed while still playing with real intensity."

"Both sides showed excellent tactical setups, especially Guardiola."

"His three-center-back system exceeded my expectations. Honestly, I thought this formation would get torn apart by Liverpool."

"With only three defenders, I couldn't see how they'd deal with Liverpool's forwards."

"But Guardiola shifted the defensive focus from the back line into midfield with that diamond setup. Through interceptions and blocks in midfield, they cut off the supply from Liverpool's deeper players to their front line."

"It's like cutting off a machine gun's ammo supply. You can have the gun, but without bullets, it's useless."

Jon Champion clearly appreciated Guardiola's tactical approach in the first half.

"But unfortunately, they still conceded. It's 1-0 at halftime, and Liverpool already have one hand on the trophy."

Even with the lead, Jon Champion still felt uneasy.

"In the first half, Manchester City's best attacker wasn't Aguero, it was Jesus."

"His constant movement from the wing into central areas showed excellent link-up play and creativity. He's not a traditional striker."

"So I think we'll definitely see more goals in the second half."

Across the broadcasts, commentators and fans continued to discuss the match. Meanwhile, inside the locker rooms, both managers were urgently working on tactical adjustments.

Klopp and Krawietz conferred for a full ten minutes before reaching a decision. They pulled out the tactics board and called the players in.

"Alright, five minutes left."

"They're using a diamond midfield to control our rhythm through the center, cutting off our forward supply."

"In the first half, Lin's diagonal adjustments gave us a chance, but they'll be ready for that now."

"I know Guardiola well. He can come up with an entirely new plan in just a few minutes. So we have to change again in the second half."

"We'll still use dynamic triangles, but no more diagonal crossing runs. We go vertical now. Two deeper channels, building dynamic triangles that connect the wings and the striker."

Klopp drew two red lines on either side of the formation, in the spaces between the wingers and the striker.

"Wijnaldum on the left. Lin on the right."

"When we attack, both of you push forward from your sides. Wijnaldum links with Mané on the left and Firmino centrally to form a triangle. On the right, Lin combines with Salah and Firmino."

"Firmino, you can drop to link play or turn and make forward runs. Your call."

"I want quicker one-touch passing. Fast short combinations and through balls in behind!"

"Raise the tempo. Defend together. Every forward tracks back. But when we attack, everyone goes forward as well!"

"Total football is our foundation."

"Vertical dynamic triangles are the foundation of our attack."

"High pressing is the foundation of our defense."

"These three principles are our core!"

"Break them!"

"Forty-five minutes, lads!"

"If we get through this, we're FA Cup champions."

"We'll be double champions!"

"That's something many players never achieve in their entire careers!"

"It's a massive achievement. So give me everything you've got. Play to your limits and prove you deserve that title!"

Klopp roared, firing up the entire squad.

The second half kicked off immediately. Liverpool charged back onto the pitch, their structure sharp and clear.

On the other side, Manchester City also adjusted their attacking shape. Jesus moved from the right wing into an attacking midfielder role.

De Bruyne dropped deeper into central midfield, while Aguero and Sané pushed up front as a two-striker pairing.

Guardiola reshaped the team into a 3-4-1-2.

What followed was a breathtaking clash of attack and defense that had fans and commentators on the edge of their seats.

Liverpool's total football collided head-on with Manchester City's modern three-center-back system!

49th minute!

"Liverpool drop deep as a unit. De Bruyne carries the ball through the middle!"

"Through ball!"

"Jesus has a chance!"

"Leo Lin tracks back! Double team—ball won!"

The moment Leo Lin made the interception, every Liverpool player surged forward. Even the center backs and fullbacks pushed up aggressively.

All ten outfield players joined the attack!

"Liverpool break forward as a unit! Manchester City retreat as a unit! The transition is lightning fast!"

"Leo Lin drives through the center and shifts it left—Robertson overlaps to receive!"

"Bernardo Silva challenges! A heavy collision between the two!"

"Both players go down! The ball is loose!"

"No foul given! A fair 50-50 challenge!"

The ball ricocheted back into the middle. Leo Lin rushed in to regain control, but Fernandinho and De Bruyne closed him down again!

Leo Lin stood his ground. He drove forward, using his right shoulder to shove Fernandinho aside, then spun to shield the ball from De Bruyne.

But Bernardo Silva, who had just been on the ground, scrambled back up and charged in again!

Three players closed him down and won the ball!

Robertson immediately pressed forward to contest it, while Mané dropped back into position. Together, they pressed and won it back again!

The entire stadium rose to its feet!

The commentator's voice surged with emotion, rising and falling with every collision and challenge on the pitch.

No one had expected the second half to turn into this.

"I never thought I'd describe a football match as brutal, but that's exactly what we're seeing right now."

"Both teams are attacking together and defending together."

"Possession can change in the blink of an eye. Every challenge is a full-blooded collision!"

"This is incredible. This is the level of top-tier football!"

"This is the beauty of the game!"
