So she said. No matter what I did, I couldn't stop hearing them. I heard it during breakfast. During my walk through the pack. Even while Carina spoke excitedly about something one of the kitchen servants had done. I barely listened.
My mind remained trapped in that small room filled with herbs and old books. Trapped in the healer's calm voice.
Carina had told me about the women who came before and how they all died at a particular day. I had recently asked her if they were any changes the women experienced but she had no idea.

There might have been no changes because they were wolves. The thought made my chest ache.
By midday, I couldn't bear being inside anymore. The room felt suffocating and so I left with no destination mind and no plan. Just a desperate need to breathe.
